So... if you can get it on like 75% off, it would be worth it, but anymore and it isn't.

EDIT UPDATE: I'm stubborn with wasted money on games and tend to keep pushing through for as long as I can. Thing is, I don't think this is a well realized vision, but I don't writhe in agony the entire time playing. It's awfully frustrating at point, but never overwhelmingly so. A game SHOULDN'T be frustrating most of the time though. That said, this update is to say that I've run into a few bugs, one where my Godbeast died and had NEGATIVE time remaining before coming back, so the time just kept doing down further into negative and she was never going to wake up, almost lost a tile due to that. Also, there is a memory leak of some sort. The game hit over 6GB of RAM usage... this game SHOULD NOT demand even half that with how it looks and what's going on in it. It then frozen, showed me menus I've never seen before, then I had to force shut it down. I had another time where I also had like 9 FPS suddenly, and it only cleared up once I finished the tile, so something was going wrong somewhere in that map... Oh, another new addition that is happening now is that if I click on my Godbeast, the game freezes and I have to force close it.

This game feels like it was half thought through, then half of that was actually finished. It looks great, the art is wonderful-but that's just about where most of the redeeming qualities stop.

The tutorial... exists? It does make you aware of stuff... but doesn't really explain much. Very little information is given in-game anywhere. You'll find yourself looking at something and wondering how it actually functions, what it's actually accomplishing, what upgrades actually do, and plenty more. The economy part of this is absolutely terrible and poorly thought out, I think they wanted to do something a bit different but... it's just a nightmare to understand. You'll get the basics of it fine, that's the weird part, at first glance it you won't notice that the economy is actually eldritch mind-torture... but then you'll just get lost, again, because no information is given.

It legitimately seems like the devs have never played a videogame in their lives, EVERYTHING that is wrong with this game is something that anyone that has played games in their life would have known to do better on-because you would remember all the times you've had those, "I wish this or that about this mechanic or that tooltip description." It's like they learned how to make a game with great art, without actually knowing anything about games?

There is SOME enjoyment here, but it's scarce, running dry when you realize that about 1 hour in you might have seen everything the game has to offer? The main gameplay loops is flawed at the core. You spend a bunch of time building up a town, doing specific quests, and then if you win (unlikely), you lose all your progress and get to start from scratch with new objective. The scaling of the difficulty also doesn't care and you may be stuck picking between a soul crushingly challenging tile or a tile that will give you testicular torsion in real life (you'll even feel the pain if you wouldn't normally be equipped for it, ladies).

It's not a fun challenging either. It's just bad. Just plain, simple, bad. I don't know what they were thinking, but this game needs another full year of careful, directed, development after the devs have played a handful of other games in the genre and similar genres so they know what a game is supposed to feel and play like. Maybe pay less for art and more for. mechanics, tooltips with accurate and informational descriptions... common sense and genre savviness?

It's rough. Very rough. I wanted to love it, but now I'm just thoroughly disappointed I can't refund it. It just takes too long to get to the point where your realize there is nothing in there to salvage the experience.

I really like the game. The heroes, the combinations between different heroes, and the art are all 10/10. But in its current state, it is completely pointless to play. The balance is broken.

You need perfect spawn, you cannot make a single mistake during the whole game, and you basically need perfect prediction of what is going to happen next. Even after all that, your units can still kill each other during training or end up on low health before a boss wave. And if you somehow survive all of that, you then have to pay a random tax to maintain your units, where the cost can be all the money you collected during the entire day.

The tax system should be completely abolished if the game is supposed to have any real sense of progression. There is absolutely no way to recover from mistakes. Any damage to your base is basically game over, because everything is so expensive that spending money on repairs or buying new heroes slowly kills your run anyway.

I absolutely loved the game's concept, visuals, and attention to the music. But I swear, I just couldn’t fully grasp it.

I tried playing Conquest mode, and by the end of the first day it felt like the entire army of Mordor showed up at my doorstep. And it wasn’t just a failure — I got completely crushed to the point where I genuinely have no idea what I could have done differently or what I did so wrong.

The game really needs a much better tutorial. I didn’t understand anything about synergies, I couldn’t find the passives for each character, I didn’t know what each unit was actually good at, and I couldn’t tell how much money each building was generating. In short: I was extremely lost. Like, REALLY lost.

I’m not asking for a refund because I truly believe this game can become incredible. It just needs polish.

And honestly, I think one of the magic words missing right now is predictability — not in gameplay or events, but in information clarity.

For example:

showing the strength of the next horde,
explaining why a level 2 hero survived a dungeon while a level 7 hero died on the first room,
or giving more transparent feedback in general.

Not predictability in outcomes, but predictability in understanding:
what each thing does, why it does it, and how it works.

If this same game becomes more polished in the future, I genuinely believe it has the potential to become one of my favorite games.

For now, I’m leaving a negative review not because the game is necessarily bad, but because I’ll be eagerly following every new version, hoping to eventually turn this into a VERY positive review.
