Quality Of Life Update

Hello Spacers, I'm Dimitris (The second one) once again.

First of all I would like to thank all of you for your valuable feedback, it's important that such things are heard and passed down to us. I took the time to read through the recent forum posts on the SIGNAL LOST DEMO. Thus, we've added the following requested Quality Of Life features listed below.

1) Intro Skipping
You can now skip both the main intro & the game intro by pressing (E) - an appropriate visual indicator now appears in the bottom right corner of your screen at all times (only during the intro cinematics). You can press E at any point in time between the start & the end of the two intros, no limitations as to when you decide to skip.

2) Reduced Intro Time
Game Intro & Main Intro have been greatly sped up. I've reduced a lot of the timers to half their time & removed some entirely.

3) Quitting back to the Main Menu through the in-game menu now instantly loads you back to the main menu.

4) Dying in the demo now instantly loads you back to the main menu as well.

5) Fixed a bug that wouldn't let the demo properly finish. (If this bug appears again (hopefully not) to anyone, they should join our discord and seek us)

6) Fixed a small visual bug that would make the endless mode computer screen to display text far smaller than it should.

I would like to also clear up some confusion. If you happen to finish the tutorial section and then happen to lose on the second half you'll be given access to an extra main menu option called "CONTINUE" which allows you to pick up the game right after the tutorial section finishes.

Typewriter effect = lame. Intro doesn't respect my time. I can read the text in 30 seconds, but I must wait 6 minutes for various "animations" to play. The perspective change at the end is nice, though, and the only cool moment in the intro. The gameplay is basically "find instructions, execute them", you can only get stuck if you can't read the commands / identify them as such. No "Eureka!" moment. Liked the humor, you should add more of it. Maybe off-screen reactions when the player is taking too long t...

Demo Update Pass 2

Hello Spacers, I'm Dimitris (The second one) once again.

The second pass update for the Demo is finally live and in time for Steam's Next Fest. We've included some community feedback and more features into the Demo as well as bug fixes.

Interaction Highlighter :
Now when you hover your mouse over an interactable object there will be a blue rim indicator around the object (similar to when you select a repair module).

Task Execution Feedback : Now when executing a task there are 2 visual feedback components. First, a "Executing Task" bar that loads and indicates that the task is being executed. Second, a CMD feedback message that notifies you if you've successfully executed the task, if the command is invalid or if a module system malfunction prevents the execution of the said task.

New Sound System :

With this update we've paved the way for adding special surrounding sounds which can only be heard when focusing on specific parts of the escape pod. This will be expanded to add a whole array of spatial ambience around the escape pod. From computer hums to machine beeps and bleeps. Currently the Radar is the only module to use this system. (We're planning A LOT with this).

Fixes/Small Additions: - Changed the Voiceline & Dialogue from the task execution sequence from the tutorial : ("You have to input the code on it's screen") to a far more clear and understandable one.- Resized the Captain's HUD so the text is more clear and readable now.- Fixed a bug that caused the full screen mode feature a white rim around the screen.
- Fixed a bug that caused some weird module interactions.
- Added particles to the power module.
- Fixed endless mode.
- Added Epilepsy warning at the start of the game.
- Fixed a visual bug present in endless mode

So what's next for Signal Lost? Behind the scenes I've been busy adding new systems and revamping a lot of the game's older systems to prepare it for the release version. Due to time constraints I haven't been able to add all of the valuable community feedback into the demo. So onwards the rest of the feedback & requested features will be present in the release version of the game.

Signal Lost Demo Update Pass 1

Hello Spacers, I'm Dimitris (The second one) I'm the developer of Signal Lost.

We would like to thank all of you for playing our demo so far and providing incredibly valuable feedback as well as bug reports. Continuing, we'll be updating the demo to fix the bugs you've brought to our attention and implement user feedback.

This is the first Update Pass for the demo, which includes a fix for a notorious bug that wouldn't let players experience the demo past the tutorial sequence. (A player had found a fix for this particular bug, by closing the game & upon startup pressing continue). Further more we're planning a second Demo update in February that includes a lot more improvements and polishes.

Cool game but I ran into a bug

I was having a fun time, there was tension tasks were pileing up, then sudenly i finish a task and the asteroid rain stops and I am plunged into complete silence. No tasks, no noise other than my radar, and ocasional creepy ambiant noises. I have been siting like this for 20 minutes, at first i assumed that this was scripted but now I'm pretty sure this is a bug....

Sudden FPS drop

When given the task to set the frequencies, my game's FPS dropped to a constant 6, disabling fullscreen upped it to 15 FPS, but the game began behaving VERY weirdly. My current GPU is an Intel ARC B580

Demo Feedback

I wanted to give some feedback since I feel like I ran into several issues during my playthrough and I think this would be helpful to the dev. First, as I was playing after executing "EXEC LAST KNOWN MEM" (or whatever the prompt was) the game just stopped? I wasn't given anymore prompts nor commands. No warnings went off. I couldn't toggle the oxygen to try to lower it and make the alarm go off, I could toggle the electricity off and alarms would go off but that was it. I sat there waiting for the next cu...
