Devlog - Something to think about

Hey everyone!

Things have been moving along steadily since the last update. I've been working through a good chunk of new content and the game keeps feeling more and more like what I always imagined it to be. Nothing big to announce just yet, but it's all coming together.

Something to think about: A point that keeps coming up in comments from people who played the demo is that the main character could feel a bit more present.

I get it, and it's something I was thinking a lot about in the past month since there's a really fine line between keeping her a bit "dissociated", inward or even catatonic but still giving the player enough to actually connect with her.

Would love to hear your thoughts on this! More inner monologue lines? More expressive animations? Or maybe something completely different? If you know any games that handled something similar really well, I'd love to hear those too. Any input is genuinely appreciated!

Pretty interesting game – Demo feedback.

I watched the trailer and I knew I had to try the demo out. And I liked it quite a bit, there is a very interesting mystery here, quite tense and scary and I love all of the details in the map. Some small issues that I found: -The default brightness was a bit too low: When I first started playing, I barely could move around as everything was so dark that the flashlight didn’t help much. I had to increase the brightness a bit and the game was a lot better after that. -Sometimes moving around was a bit...

Devlog - We're back! (with a new friend)

Hey everyone!

The past few months have been crazy busy, but I'm really happy to finally sit down and share what's been going on with Solace Creek.

The big news first: Solace Creek is being published by Monster Theater! I'm so happy they saw something in my vision and it's genuinely been amazing to work with everyone on the team. Here's an announcement trailer showcasing some never before seen content:

Earlier this year we ran a closed playtest, and it was really valuable. A lot of the content I've been working on for the past months has never really been tested by players and I was kinda anxious to get feedback on how it all was received. And I think people really connected with it. The demo only gives you a glimpse of the feel of the game and I think the playtest was a much deeper insight into other aspects of the game, which is why it was a bit nerve-wracking to finally show it to other people.

One thing that really came up in the playtest was pacing. The demo builds tension all the way until the faceoff near the end, and I felt like after all that intensity, players needed a moment to breathe. I've always believed you need that contrast to really feel the highs and lows, but I'm curious: is that something you prefer, or do you like being on the edge of your seat the whole time?

The game is now roughly halfway done, and it feels more like itself than ever before. Which brings me to the updated demo, which is live right now! The content is the same as before, but the whole thing feels a lot more polished. I think if you already played the demo you'll immediately spot the differences :D

Devlog - Linux Release 🐧

Hello everyone!

A quick but exciting update: in addition to the Windows and macOS builds, the Solace Creek demo is now also available on Linux! 🎉 I’ve seen quite a few requests for it, so I’m happy to finally make it happen.

On top of that, there’s been a lot of progress on the full version over the past weeks. I’ve been building new areas to explore and working on fresh storylines that will expand the world of Solace Creek. It’s really starting to take shape—but there’s still a lot of work ahead. Because of that, I can’t share a release date just yet.

Thanks for your patience and continued support—it means a lot and keeps me motivated. More updates soon!

Demo Feedback

I came across this game from a video by eurothug4000! Here's some quick thoughts I jotted down. -The music and sound design is impeccable. No notes

-I got lost for quite a while in what was actually a pretty simple area, most of the walls look the same and there aren't really any memorable objects to orient yourself. Consider adding a map, perhaps one you can open that doesn't pause the game so you can keep the tension up? -I like the wash your damn hands and ducks are good posters. Small ...

Demo Feedback

Pros: Art Style, Level Design, Sound Design, Controls, Controller Feedback are all great. Story, pacing, intrigue, seem good for what you started with. Almost got stuck a few times but a bit of exploration did help mitigate though general level design and signaling did help with navigation. I like what was done with the flashlight system in the fact that it recharges ad allows you to focus on exploration and not perpetually battery hunting. Game runs incredibly well on my PC.
