Well, after playing the demo, I had high hopes for the game, particularly for its cinematic direction and how good it looked and I can say that I liked what I played in the full release as well.

It’s not a long game, and considering the price some may find it hard to digest, but it is very well made with nice comedic elements embedded into it and incredible visuals. It plays like a side scroller where you are mostly moving to the right, jumping and progressing, so there aren’t many puzzle elements and you may want to try the demo first before deciding.

One thing you can say, however, is that the performance is not good at all. You can see my specs, but even with DLSS on Quality at 4K, the game was struggling, which, considering the genre, might be an issue for some people.

Still, it was an enjoyable short experience.

I was excited to play this game and really wanted to like it, but despite its charming octopus hero, the game wasn't fun enough to keep going and annoyed me with some frustrating sections. I read that the game gets even more frustrating past the point I played (two hours), so I decided to refund it.

What I liked:
+ cute octopus
+ charming animations
+ nice eastereggs (other Konami games like Metal Gear Solid and Frogger)
+ good humor

Neutral points:
* unremarkable music
* you learn and use all of your skills in the tutorial at the beginning, only to lose these skills after the tutorial without any explanation; you learn (or more precisely remember) these skills later throughout the game, though

What I disliked:
- blurry graphics, no option to disable motion blur
- bad UE5 optimization with fps drops (this game shouldn't be so demanding)
- some frustrating puzzles that require to have perfect timing
- trial and error that involves dying a lot until you understand what you have to do
- some checkpoints are frustrating
- the skills and puzzle ideas are promising, but the execution lacks fun and didn't really motivate me to continue
- no real story in the first two hours I played; you just go to where the linear levels lead you to (What is the point of the game? To flee? To sabotage the Ufood company? To find the red octopus? I didn't get it.)
- I dislike factory levels in every game, especially in puzzle platformers (boring and ugly environments) and in the first two hours of the game, you run through a trash dump, sewers and factory levels... it was visually displeasing and boring (the tutorial takes place in a beautiful ocean setting, so the contrast was particularly jarring)
