Better With A Friend turns 1 year!

Hi everyone! I just wanted to take this little inevitable milestone to thank everyone for the support that Better With The Friend has received in the past year. It is great to see so many people playing it and still playing it. Getting messages from people that they finally have something to play with their kids or their girlfriend. It is really heartwarming to read those little stories being made by you guys.

While there hasn't been an update in quite some time, I still have some things planned for Better With A Friend, but at the moment I am focussing on my other upcoming Steam Deck game: Game With Balls, that I hope to ship, before the end of the year. There is one level for this game in Better With A Friend and you can also try 5 different levels in the demo!

Improved layout of answers in flag guessing & trivia

In flag guessing and trivia, there is always a bit of time necessary to map the response to the correct button. Since the controls are both laid out in a cross/rhombus, the responses could be laid out similarly. This requires slight adjustment of the control hints, giving a bit less space to the responses so X and B can fit next to each other. But I think it’s totally worth it as UX improvement. It especially helps people who are not super familiar with the ABXY button layout. :) Here is a quick mockup...

Clearer indication of whose turn it is in hangman & tic-tac-toe

In both hangman and tic-tac-toe – even though they are very simple games

– it can get a bit confusing to know whose turn it is. A nice clear indication would be nice, be it a colored arrow or text on the side. The other turn-based games like checkers and dots n boxes have this, and it makes it more understandable....

Ultimate tic-tac-toe

Tic-tac-toe itself is a bit brainless and leads to many draws.
