2025 EoY Update

We've got a quick last minute update before 2025 disappears into the distance - including some extra game footage and news on the Steam demo coming early next year. There's also an extended Marianna teaser for anyone that would like to see a little more of their favourite siren (or deadliest anyway!)

Demo Impressions

Having played the demo a few days ago, I have to say I'm pleasantly impressed. I loved the typing aspect of the first game and hearing that the second game wouldn't have that mechanic was a bit sad. But the Links mechanic was super fun and intuitive and the story so far has been equally as enjoyable as the first game. The only real thing I would say so far is I would like a "notes" section to be able to jot down things that the patients say that might become relevant later (Dates and times for example.)...

Dekker 2 Steam Deck Compatibility

We're currently in the middle of all the things but we've already started testing on the Steam Deck with a native linux build, webm videos and a larger scale UI. There won't be any touchscreen functionality but other than that it should work well. The larger scale UI will also be available on the standard PC build for anyone that prefers the bigger view of things and for playing more comfortably on TV.

Wow! Expect the unexpected!

I do hope that Poe and Munro will forgive me, but... This October update was better than ANY August update. WOW! After 25 years waiting for the sequel to Mark of the Wolves, I was convinced that the return of Fatal Fury in City of the Wolves was surely going to be the best comeback in Gaming for 2025. Sure bet. I mean, what could possibly top this? And then... Doctor Dekker 2 got finally confirmed. This is amazing! If this is your idea of a Halloween scare, do feel free to scare me whenever you want. ...

It's been a few years since the last one and if one technological development was made in the meantime it's the Large Language Models interpreting text. Yet AI is a polarizing subject with a lot of legal questions still unanswered. How is that gonna affect Dekker2? Will Dekker2 use an oldschool non-AI interpreter like Dekker1 or will we get something more advanced?...
