Jugs Bay: Cabaret & Hugs 'n Kisses Update

Jugs Bay Update v1.2.8 is Ready to Play!

This update adds several new Cabaret shows you can attend by buying tickets, along with new slice-of-life interactions for Nora and Hitomi at their homes and workplaces once you’ve reached Lover status.

The goal with this update was to add more depth to those relationships after the main endgame content and make that stage of the game feel more alive.

We also made several under-the-hood improvements:

Phone > Contacts has been overhauled to better reflect each romanceable character’s relationship status and presentation.
The audio system has been reworked to behave more reliably across different Windows audio drivers, while also improving compatibility for Steam Deck / Proton players.
The Quest Log now includes a memory guard to help prevent older quest hints from overwriting newer progress.
Fixed a bug where typing in in-game name fields could trigger keyboard shortcuts instead of staying in the text field.
Fixed quest markers on the map so objectives in sublocations can still show correctly on the main location.

And if you’ve read this far, here’s a small sneak peek at what’s next: our upcoming game, Tunturi Lumi.

We're actively developing our new game set around a cozy winter resort in Lapland, Finland.

This time the game features:
- Two playable main characters (female and male)
- Multiple storylines
- Several romanceable characters
- A large cast of side characters to spend a good time with.
- Fully voiced characters

Gameplay

Now, bare in mind that everything I'm going to show you is very much still a work in progress. None of this is final and it's all still subject to change.

You already know that Tunturi Lumi is set in Lapland and that means plenty of snow and ice of course. We are of course also trying to bring that into the gameplay, but I won't spoil any of that yet. For now here's a little test we did to make use of parallax displacement for use in a minigame.

Just like with Jugs Bay we plan to have plenty of gameplay components that go far beyond the basic Visual Novel formula.

Voice Acting

Voice Acting?! You read correctly! Tunturi Lumi is gonna be fully voice acted. Here's just a little appetizer for you:

Finally, while Tunturi Lumi won't be coming to early access on Steam this time, we are still going to be distributing occasional updates via Patreon. So make sure to stick around for those!

We plan to start things of with a Demo version which is in the works right now. Unfortunately I cannot give you a release date yet, but you are in just the right place to be among the first to hear about it!

Jugs Bay Update v1.1.9 is now Live!

You can now lease your own yacht!

For $3,000 in-game, rent Yacht Mc PussBoat from the Honkers Store. Invite your dates for private yacht cruise with Johanna, Hitomi, Nora, Rachel and Angelica

This is end-game content: You can only bring a girl to the yacht once you’ve fully completed her chapters (lovers status). The yacht is accessible from the Beach during daytime.

Jugs Bay Update v1.1 is Ready to Play!

With this Update we're bringing even more life towards Jugs Beach, adding 14 new beach events, bringing our total amount random events at Jugs Beach to 64. ːsteamhappyːOne of the new events is a entertaining "Wet No-Shirt" contest, where you also can get some action.

Overall with 1.1 we focused on under the hood changes like:

Improvements

Improved the Save and Load UI, to prevent players from accidentally clicking delete when trying to save game progress.
Changed the hide button functionality, it will not also hide the quick menu.
Dialogue Text Rendering: Increased reliability under stress, throttled timers (background tabs, Proton, low-power mode) won't cause text to stall or finish late, this should also cause less CPU wake-ups, marginally better battery life on laptops.
Combat UI: Further adjusting the position of combat health bars to work better on small displays (Steam Deck) when using a non-English language and dded action info to target selection phase to make up for lack of mouse cursor to hover an action when playing with keyboard/controller

Bug Fixes

Audio Volume: Preventing errors from invalid audio volumes.
Mini-games now trigger correctly when skip is enabled.
Preventing Frozen Screen: if Media Renderer ever does crash, users get a working fallback instead of a frozen screen.
Proper Item Filtering: filter out CoC exclusive items from regular inventory
Add keyboard/controller controls for medieval inventory
Fix and improve keyboard/controller controls for settings
Improve keyboard/controller controls for shops (buying and selling)
Fix missing translation for last Nora chapter

Can't open game on Mac (OS Error 3584)

I can't open my game no matter how many times I uninstall and re-download it. The message shown is "You can't open the application "Jugs Bay" because this application is not supported on this Mac.

Steam Deck – In-game videos no longer play after today's hotfix

After today's hotfix, all in-game videos are completely broken on Steam Deck. Before the update, everything worked perfectly. Now the game launches, but all cutscenes and in-game videos do not play at all. Only a black screen appears, or the video is skipped entirely. Tested Proton versions: - Proton 8.0 (game does not launch) - Proton 9 / Experimental (game launches, but videos do not play) - Proton-GE (same issue, no videos) This issue only started after today's hotfix.
