PC? Saving? RNG and timed-choices?

Is the player's character fully pre-determined or customisable? While "As Peridot Haps, a seasoned rogue with a storied past" might mean the former, it also might be just the defaults to be set up when starting. How does the game save the progress? Is it possible to disable RNG and timed choices and use Take10/Take20?...

Please add a text speed option.

I have barely started and already know this will be a struggle for me. I read very quickly and the text is way too slow. Pressing continue speeds it up, which I appreciate, but i would really, really like an option for instant text.
