Hey I recently completed X beyond the frontier, and im getting ready to play some X-tension till i get bored of it and move on to X2 Im gonna roleplay a proto Terracorp thing, but if any veterans have some good ol tips, they are most welcome. I know for instance that bailed ships fetch alot of money, but any good trade goods or stations you can focus on early on to get? thanks in advance...

So, there was a small update which may be related to compatabilty with Windows 10. I haven't played this game for a long time. But, now I see it crashes as it begins to load, something about Xtension has stopped working. Anyone else have this problem? As I say I haven't booted this program in quite a while so maybe this problem has been around. I also upgraded my GPU last winter if its a graphics issue. I also have Europa Universalis IV crash on this system while it works fine on other computers I have....

It crashes as described above. I can't play the game anymore. Changing compatibility mode doesn't fix it - eg. Windows 7, 8, XP SP3, 98, etc. Neither does forcing Nvidia processor to run instead of the Intel one. Neither does turning off the Steam overlay. I'm on Windows 11. And, I found a couple of dmps in the Local>CrashDumps folder with "X-Tension.exe" appended to the filename. Hello Frontier pilots.. I was thrilled to find this game availible to play on win 10.. I have the entire game on CD/DVD and ran it on XP long ago. Back then you had a option to start the game with a nicer start I enjoyed... but dont see it as a saved game... am I missing something or must I start with just a med fighter. if so it will be a long long long game time....
