Healing Mechanics: Players like Grillmastah experimented with eating raw ingredients to test the effects in search of something that restored HP. We added a quest featuring the Sunblish Apple and introduced an "Eaten Raw" effects category in the Inventory's detail panel to clarify outcomes.
Interestingly, it also allowed us to explain (in text) what the purple bar is. 🤮
Puff Propeller Materials: Some struggled to locate items or catch Honeybees. Feedback suggested Bees flew away too quickly, but we found players weren’t using sprint or dash. We added a controls screen, a menu preview option, and updated quest wording to encourage using these moves. Many players followed quest instructions precisely, so we added tips below the quests where specific controls weren’t required. 💨
Nurturing Creatures: Nurturing notifications were confusing as they seemed unrelated to creatures in the Briefbase. Adding the same exclamation symbol to both the notification and the creature helped most players understand this system. 🐰
Briefcase Abilities: The third unconventional mechanic, Briefcase Abilities, needed refinement. Players like Mocca and WildGamerSK suggested clearer quest phrasing, while Seleos noted issues with recalling the briefcase if thrown far. Kristi found gliding after puffing too complex, so we automated midair briefcase recall to simplify it.💼
Combat Adjustments: Players like PartiallyRoyal used Waterberries on slugs, which inadvertently healed them and made them invisible. We removed health regeneration from Wetness and added a quest tip to discourage this. ⚔️
Lastly, when people reached the mirror, they were unsure if they had seen everything, so we modified the final note to highlight things they might have missed.
