What I Played: Over 103 hours of sneaking through every corner of the City, robbing the Baron's goons blind, and compulsively looting every drawer, cabinet, and safe I could find. I played on harder difficulty settings because honestly, this game rewards you for it.

The Good:

• The atmosphere is genuinely incredible. The City feels lived-in and oppressive in the best way possible. Dark alleys, flickering gas lamps, rain-soaked rooftops — I'd just stop and soak it in sometimes before pickpocketing some poor guard.
  
• The stealth mechanics are satisfying once you commit to them. Swoop-dashing between shadows, peaking around corners, timing your movement to guard patrols — when a heist comes together cleanly it feels so good.
  
• Sound design deserves its own shoutout. You can hear guards' conversations through walls, your footsteps change on different surfaces, and the ambient noise of the City is top tier. I played with headphones and it made a massive difference.
  
• The side jobs and exploration kept me busy way longer than the main story. There's a stupid amount of loot tucked into hidden rooms and secret passages. Finding those felt more rewarding than most of the actual missions.

The Bad:

• The story is... there. It's not terrible but it never really grabbed me. Garrett himself is cool but the plot kind of meanders in the middle chapters. I was more invested in robbing people than saving the world or whatever was happening.
  
• The loading screens between zones got old fast. The City is broken into chunks and you hit a loading screen constantly when moving between areas. After 100 hours I could probably draw the loading screen from memory.
  
• AI can be a bit inconsistent. Guards will sometimes spot you through geometry or forget you exist two seconds after you were standing right in front of them.

Verdict: Recommended - Look, I put 103 hours into this game. That speaks for itself. If you like stealth games and want something you can really sink into, Thief delivers. It's not flawless, but creeping through the City never stopped being fun. Turn the lights off, put on headphones, and go steal everything that isn't nailed down. And then steal the nails.

♥♥♥♥ this thing, Im dropping it midgame. fourth time my playthrough got ♥♥♥♥♥♥ cause I missed or forgot to check one of the loot areas and went to the one-way "door". Im not replyaing whole level for another hour and a half of stealth because some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dev thought its a good idea to rewrite saves automatically every now and then. if you dont care about collecting every collectible item, sure, its a good game.

Thief gave me Dishonored vibes, so I wanted to give it a try. And I hated it. The gameplay sucks, or I suck, ether way it wasn't fun. The whole stealth mechanics is confusing and inconsistent. I could be in the shadows and be spotted from across a room, or I could be is a tiny tiny shadow in the middle of a bridge and have a dude with a touch walk right by me. The game also sucks at explaining thing, cause I only thought the focus was to highlight things and not an stealth itself. The "open world" don't feel that open and very claustrophobic. The story is boring too. There was no Hammerites, the Pagans, or the Keepers, and Erin is an annoying character, why are me trying to save her ungrateful a**? It looks nice, again visuals give off Dishonored vibes. But 2/3 though the game I just wanted it over, also the final boss was stupid.
