⚡ Patch Update + We're Joining Steam Scream Fest 2025! ⚡

Hey Cult Members of Haphazard Angel! 🪽
That last patch came with a few... heavenly bugs. But fear not — we’ve just rolled out a fresh update to set things right!
And even bigger news: we’re officially part of Steam Scream Fest 2025! 🎃👻

🛠️ Patch Notes

Changes:
• Levels 5–15 mechanics are now working again!
• Added multiple new ways to stop Kazfiel from getting back to heaven (for those who aren’t quite strong enough 👀)
• Re-added the Hand of God cutscene
• Added slow-motion effect when you’re about to die (very cinematic 💀)
• More single-player fixes
• Added proper links to UI buttons
• Fixed settings navigation (pause menu improvements still in progress!)
• Added upgrade icons to the top bar
• Introduced 3 brand-new upgrades — can you find them all?

Balance Adjustments:
• Increased Rick’s flick strength (again!)
• Increased small stone weights
• Increased ground spike spawn rate

Heyyy Cult Members! We're cooking up a tiny patch jam packed with a ton of bugfixes thanks to all your feedback

We learned soooo so much from @felfy and @novahibernal's streams, and we're super geared to improve even more!

Changes:

- Added emojis that appear when you pick up an essence! (Will later be added as cosmetics)

- Added super subtle level bar shake when you gain exp

- Added wishlist buttons as shortcuts ;)

- Fixed Main menu screen for widescreen PCs

- Re-added disconnected controller indicator

- Added several CTA UI

- Fixed sound muffling even after dying

- Fixed clicking sound on lobby

- "Retry" button now allows you to reselect wings

- Fix game bgm persisting after going back to main menu

- Fix game not pausing when you pause-unpause rapidly

Balance:

- Increased Rick's flick strength

- Hand of God now **always** spawns when you reach 80% holiness

- Tier 5 obstacles now unlocked. These will start spawning after level 20. Good luck.

- Evil (individual) health damage now have the same values as holy (team) health damage

DEMO — OUT NOW!

Hi everyone! The wait is over! Our demo for Haphazard Angel is live today, September 27, 2025. 🎉 Grab some friends, a single controller (or a whole couch full of traitors), and jump in — chaos awaits.

What’s in the demo (what’s new since the public playtest)

40 new obstacle sets: most appear in the late game, more chaos the higher you climb/descend.
2 new team abilities: use them to cooperate… or sabotage.
Fists, feet, and other horrifying bits: context is optional.
One-controller play: go to the lobby and press START to play with a single controller.
Bug fixes, balance passes, and lots of polish: thanks to the playtesters who shouted at their friends for science.

Quick tips for first runs

Coordinate: you share a body, not a brain.
Try different wings: each wing has a unique sin-inspired ability (and delightful consequences).
Don’t take Kaz personally: Kaz will still love you (probably). 😉

Did the creator of the game think about such a solution as keyboard control? 80% of people in steam play with it lol, I think it would be appropriate to make two control options at once

Bug report: Wing freezes

Idk exactly how to reproduce that bug, I was just playing with a friend (2 players), we had lots of stamina (we picked 5 cards of stamina) and suddenly the wings froze. There's some insights I found during this bug: - The wing can do only one action (move, shrink, grow). - Once you invert the wing (change direction) you are able again to "change" the action. Example: You move your wing during bug, then you are only able to move the wing, so you will not be able to shrink / grow, only move, Then you inv...
