Stability & Save System Improvements

We refactored a large portion of the game code to significantly improve overall stability and save file security.

We have eliminated the majority of potential crashes.

This was extremely important to us, as many of you reported these issues.

We are confident that the current version is noticeably more stable and that most crash-related problems have been resolved.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention - thanks to you, DRIFT ISLAND keeps getting better!

Tool System Overhaul

We introduced major changes to the tools system to improve the overall car-building experience:

Removed 2 wrench levels to streamline assembly gameplay.

The wrench now automatically transfers parts to storage.

Computers now have separate functions:

The smaller OBD scanner is used to check the car’s condition.

The larger computer now acts as a tablet, allowing you to purchase parts directly from its interface without driving to the shop.

The physical shop still exclusively sells:

• Complete engines

• Suspensions

• Tools not available via the computer

Optional Damage System

Added a new option that allows you to disable mechanical and visual damage if you prefer a more relaxed experience.

(We personally recommend keeping damage enabled for the full experience.)

Challenge Scoring Rework

Major changes to the challenge scoring algorithms to improve balance and overall enjoyment.

Dyno Screen Improvements

Redesigned and improved the dyno screen.

The power graph is now clearer and easier to read.

Engine load rules are now much more transparent.

You can now clearly see how assigning tuning points earned in challenges increases engine load and accelerates engine wear.

If you want more power safely:

Upgrade internal engine parts first.

Add a turbocharger and/or supercharger.

Dyno tuning now carries a higher risk of damaging your engine.

Fast Travel & Map Improvements

You can now see all your cars on the map.

You can teleport directly to any of your cars.

You can also teleport to:

• Shop

• Car wash

• Workshop

• Garage

• Dyno

New Car Added

A brand-new car has been added to the game.

Find it somewhere on the map :)

Other Improvements

• The engine dyno now resets correctly after entering the dyno.

• Improved part sets for N180 and N15.

• Fixed various part sprites.

• Fixed opening headlights.

• Fixed disappearing dashboard gauges inside cars.

• Fixed challenges resetting after teleporting.

• Fixed challenge UI overlapping the pause menu.

• Improved vehicle reset logic, restart position is now calculated using wheel raycasts, and vehicle rotation is aligned based on those raycasts.

• Fixed I35 appearing incorrectly in the shop car list.

• Game now correctly starts with the player outside the car.

• Save backup system improved, backups are created no more than once every 5 minutes, and there are now 5 rotating backup save slots.

• Numerous smaller code fixes and graphical improvements.
