Demo Launch - Dec 1st

Hello Researchers!

Big news! We are getting ready to launch the demo. We've been hard at work polishing up the beach scene to get it ready for you. Lots of bugs, lots of late nights, lots of internal tears, but we're almost there! Mark your calendars for December 1st!

In the past month we've:

Replaced the entire level art
Polished creature shaders
Fixed bugs
Implemented new animations
Created new quests and dialogues
Fixed more bugs
and more, so much more.

For this demo you'll be able to freely run around and explore our Boogie Bay environment. But keep in mind, this is just one of several environments we're building out with just a sample of the gameplay.

Be sure to join our discord[discord.com] to share your thoughts, grievances, or ideas directly with the devs!

Some challenges for you while you play:

Collect the Boogie Bay Badge (collect enough research)
Collect the GOLD Boogie Bay Badge (complete all the research challenges in your Notebook)
Complete the F.A.C.T. Machine compendium (capture all the items in the beach)
Find the lost note???

Island Customization is Here!

Hello researchers!

We've been hard at work on the game and the community has been absolutely amazing in their playtesting feedback and involvement. Thanks to our wonderful members, we're excited to announce a new feature: Island Decoration! This feature is thanks to YOU.

Prototype sneak peak:

How the feature works:

Find and unlock item blueprints
Spend currency to buy decoration items (Currency can be earned in lots of ways, like quests, photo challenges, or just by finding it! Grandma's been known to leave loose change in couch cushions...)

Pretty simple, right? Here's the cool part: Photo challenges!

Jaime, our local art connoisseur, will be looking to sell your photos.

But he's not looking for just any photo, he needs a HOT photo. All items will have photo tags associated with them. Challenges will require you to take photos with trending HOT photo tags.

But wait, there's more!

Items aren't merely decoration. They may have an impact on the environment (like allowing you to access new locations) or the creatures (like getting that poor Octol the beach ball he's been searching for T_T).

Our amazing 3D modeler is going to town crafting the cutest most versatile decorations for you to customize the island in any way you want. And speaking of customization, another quick preview of the new character customizer scene:

Unless known or implemented already for future changes, some things I want to see changed or modified for ease of access & accessibility Show Star Rating Before Adding Pictures to the Album : As it was, you'd add a picture & you'd see a star rating, but in order to see the rating pop up, I keep having to add new pictures just to see the rating, which is both time consuming & tedious, these types of games, zoom amount is confusing, some look literally perfect, in frame, centered & fac...

needs more settings

settings need to be available from the main menu, not only after starting a new game and sitting through a bunch of dialog. pleasantly surprised an alpha build already has rebindable controls, most finished games don't have it, but there's absolutely nothing for graphics. it also needs an instant text option. pressing f for every sentence to appear faster instead of the annoying typewriter effect is really tedious. and not sure how the game saves currently but it needs manual saving anytime and on exit,...
