A NEW GAME IS HERE

Hi, it's CatTrigger.
Some of you may have already been notified, since you follow me on itch.io... and I apologize not sending this newsletter out earlier...as I was catching up on some sleep after the O2A2 game jam.

That's right, I made another short game for the O2A2 game jam called PROPHET[cattrigger.itch.io].

Your village has chosen YOU for this pilgrimage, where you will ascend to Heaven representing them.

Near the end of your travels, you come upon the Great Prophet of the Church. She will assist you on the ritual...

...but the Prophet may not be who she says she is.

Prophet is a Horror Micro-Game made for the O2A2 Micro-Game Jam that is part Visual Novel & Part Point 'n' Click.

You are a Pilgrim nearing to the end of your Pilgrimage, committed to the final steps of the ritual with the Great Prophet. Your choices will judge what happens to you and the future of the church.

As with all O2A2 games, this game was created under strict guidelines:

- Only one character "sprite model" visually featured.

- Only one environment

- Only one soundtrack.

- Only one sound effect.

- 1,000 words or less, excluding repeats (Game is exactly 1000 words).

- Only 10 days from START to COMPLETION.

I've participated in O2A2 for the last 4 years. PROPHET has been the most ambitious entry for this jam for me. I hope you enjoy it :).

wouldn't it be cool if

like their would be more than possibly 5 or whatever i saw and i wish i was also had a better understanding of the story so far, so far i think i do at least?, but anyways um i was thinking what if their was a type of character like Alyssa or Jane or whatever her name was that was a type of like player and like if i were to be in the game maybe by the sense of Angel you could put my name and possibly i could be interlinked with the whole story maybe like a side character maybe and just have more input into...

Storm, Date Time and other ⭐ New Year Updates! ⭐

Welcome back everyone! I know it's already been a while posting on the 'Date Time' docket!

(Every year I do an illustration of the Zodiac Animal before the apple drops, technically Chinese New Year happens weeks later, but who will TRULY hold me accountable, huh?)

Also... some sass..

Since this is the beginning of the New Year, I thought it'd be good to update you on what I've been up to since getting back from Christmas break.

Engine Problems

Currently, I am working on engine upgrades for both the 'Storm the Swan' project as well as 'Date Time'. This includes upgrading from Unity 2019 to Unity 6 and ALL THE BEAUTIFUL PROBLEMS that that entails.

Hopefully at the end of that process, StS will be on its way to being fully finished (asides from small bug fixes here or there) and Date Time will be able to keep on development without regression hitches.

This change is hard, and has bumped into their own bugs for both projects, however... it would be beneficial for the long run, as I'll be able to get better support moving forward with game development on a much less archaic version of Unity.

Speaking of Storm...

Date Time, Anna: The Patron

Here's some updates on some of the new content upcoming to 'Date Time', namely the Anna chapter where you play **The Patron**.

In the demo version of the Anna Chapter, you were able to play through the perspective of a beta tester named, Jane Whitman. But in the 2nd part of the chapter, you will be able to return to the role of a Library Patron, who arrives at the Library to play their new DT-3 computer system (with 6KB of RAM?!!!), excited to check out the big romantic adventure of Date Time: Anna.

As soon as you select 'The Patron' on the selection screen, this will be the first thing you see.[bsky.app]

I posted on Bluesky a few of my behind the scenes when working on this intro video, such as modeling and animating the steering wheel in 3D, if you are curious.

I usually post progress pictures and other art stuff (as well as my grievances) on Bluesky, it's currently my most active platform. If you'd like to keep up with my current happenings, feel free to follow me there.[bsky.app]

STORM THE SWAN is OUT NOW on STEAM! Now with STEAM ACHIEVEMENTS!

STORM THE SWAN is finally out on STEAM for HALLOWEEN! It's FREE, so add it to your library!

This version of the game is different from the current itch.io version in a few ways:

Implemented STEAM ACHIEVEMENTS, now you can officially wear them like a badge on your Steam account. Can you get ALL OF THEM?!
Confirmed to be working on the Steam Deck.
Created a section for Content Warnings for 'Storm the Swan', the game is intended to be played without any knowledge of its content, however, if you do need to see a list of general content prior to playing, it is something you can view in the main menu.

For all the people who have played and enjoyed my game, it would be great if you leave a review on the Storm the Swan Steam page.

Really liked the demo BUT

Could use a proof reader or two to catch spelling and grammar mistakes that sometimes detract from the story and interactions.

This looks good, like swan so far

Like the developers visual style, love the retro GB look of these games. Will check this out when its released don't really like playing demos before release cause it spoils a lot. But I really like the developers art, hope they keep it up cause swans a really weird game so far....
