Today, I’m reaching out to you not just as a developer, but as a person who has been living with this project for four years.

Life Effect is hundreds of sleepless nights, constant work, and an enormous amount of communication with you.

In May 2023, I started actively developing the demo version. Back then, it was an experiment. A small idea. I didn’t know if it would grow into something serious.

But then you started coming.

In February 2025, the most intense phase began. For almost a whole year, I worked on the game every single day.

Updates were released every week, and during some periods, even every day.

I read all the feedback.

I replied to comments on Discord, VK, and Steam.

I added features that you requested.

I ran events.

I personally helped players solve their problems.

The game grew together with the community.

85% positive reviews are the result not only of my work but also of your involvement.

But now, I have to honestly talk about the other side.

The current version of the game is published through a publishing account that does not belong to me personally. Despite the fact that I handled the development, updates, and support, I do not have full control over the financial and strategic part of the project. Currently, I still have access to publish builds and news, but it’s possible that even these options could be closed off to me.

This creates risks for the future.

I cannot build a long-term roadmap, implement co-op, scale the game, or invest in server infrastructure if I don’t control the project’s foundation.

And many of you are constantly asking for a cooperative mode.

I see those messages.

I want to make a multiplayer mode.

I want you to be able to survive together.

I want to develop the game towards co-op.

I want to make the game big, with all the locations you see on the world map in the game.

But for that, I need a stable and fully manageable platform. One that is controlled personally by me, without third parties.

That’s why I made a difficult decision.

Without third parties.

Without limitations.

Without the risks of sudden development stops.

I don’t want those who have already purchased Life Effect to have to pay twice.

But there’s an important nuance that I must honestly mention.

If you activate the game via a key and leave a review, that review is not counted by Steam’s algorithms, unlike a review from a direct purchase.

For new projects, reviews are a critically important factor, especially at the game's launch.

If you truly want to help the project get on its feet as an independent release — the best support would be to buy the game directly on the new store page.

I am planning to set a 40% discount to make the transition as comfortable as possible. This is the maximum discount allowed by Steam when launching a game.

Building a sustainable future for the project is more important to me than making a quick profit.
