SUMMARY
LEGO The Lord of the Rings is one of the greatest LEGO games ever made, and it still holds up remarkably well despite its age.

It is also one of the few middle-earth games available due to the difficulty of obtaining the necessary licenses. If you love the trilogy written by J.R.R. Tolkien, then I highly recommend this LEGO game.

DETAILS
I love the simplicity of the game and how effectively it captures all three movie adaptations.

The game is funny at the right moments (e.g., when you are captured by the Riders of Rohan) and serious when it needs to be (e.g., when Frodo is being stabbed by the Nazgûl).

I also love the variety of the levels, where you have to fight bosses like the Balrog, sneak past characters such as Boromir, and run from enemies like the Nazgûl.

The open world is massive, allowing you to explore all the iconic locations from the trilogy. The amount of quests scales well, but it would be nice to have a bit more variety instead of only fetching tasks.

The game also has a few bugs, such as minikits not counting properly. I still do not understand how LEGO has not fixed such simple issues yet.

I love the Lord of the Rings and now, thanks to my son, I also love LEGO. Brilliant!
