Emberbane - Patch 1.03

Patch 1.03 is now live.

This update focuses on resolving the most critical issues reported since launch and improving the overall gameplay experience.

Our goal with this patch was to remove the major progression blockers and stabilize the core experience so Emberbane can now be played from beginning to end as intended.

Gameplay Improvements

Ophelia’s slide ability has been improved based on community feedback.

Increased slide speed and distance
Reduced duration
More responsive control
Dodge timing now requires more precise timing

Major Fixes & Stability

Fixed several major bugs and progression blockers
Resolved a progression blocker at the top of Khan’s Rest that prevented access to Act 3.
Players should now be able to progress through Act 3 and reach to the end boss without blockers
Many region-specific bugs reported by the community have been resolved
Fixed multiple side quest issues
Various cinematic improvements
Adjusted balance for several enemies and bosses
Added improvements to help players track progression more clearly
Some improvements were made to the current map system.

We are also working on a larger navigation update that will improve map clarity and tracking.

Development Notes

This update resolves a large number of issues reported after launch and significantly improves the stability of the game.

Our next focus will be continuing to refine the experience based on your feedback.

A larger update is planned for the end of the month, focusing on further gameplay improvements, polish, and navigation clarity.

With the end-of-March update, our goal is to bring Emberbane to the point where it can be played from beginning to end as intended.

Until then, we will continue releasing smaller hotfixes when needed.

1. pits dont kill or respawn, just into the void causing reset 2. codexes missing from item screen - havent turned them in either. just gone 3. tomes purchased disappear from inventory 4. main character often gets stuck in a pushing sprite. this also causes slide to be unusuable 5. area where we get the purple ability, getting hit by spikes causes respawn over pit, that constantly causes respawn over... you guessed it the pit ill keep updating this list as i find more. or let you know that ive given up tr...

Patch 1.02 – Now Live

Thank you for your continued feedback. Patch 1.02 focuses on stability, progression blockers, and combat adjustments.

Added

D-Pad movement support.
Originally assigned to element switching, it is now available for movement following community requests.

Fixed

Resolved a significant number of reported critical bugs, especially those affecting progression.
Fixed reported boss-related issues.
Continued addressing bugs reported during the patch preparation period.

Balance

Adjusted enemy balance across multiple encounters.
Additional Ophelia and enemy balance adjustments are already in progress.

Improvements

Map improvements and clarity adjustments.
Ongoing large-scale map rework in development.
UI polish and general gameplay refinements.

Steam Deck

The game has passed verification process of Steam Deck; however, further adjustments are needed for UI button prompts and text scaling to ensure a fully optimized experience.
Work on these improvements has already begun.

What’s Next

Our next update will focus primarily on navigation and wayfinding improvements, addressing the most frequently mentioned concerns.

We are carefully reviewing all feedback and bug reports and acting on them. Our goal is to stabilize and refine Emberbane quickly so it reaches the level of quality you expect.

Patch 1.01 – Now Live

Fixes & Improvements

Fixed an issue where certain quest items could disappear from the inventory.
Resolved multiple progression blockers reported by players.
Addressed reported issues related to Relics.
Various UI fixes and general polish improvements.

During the deployment of Patch 1.01, a configuration issue caused a problem related to checkpoints.
A hotfix addressing this has been prepared and will be released shortly.

We are actively working on improving stability and addressing critical issues as our top priority.

Some reported problems require deeper investigation, and we are tackling them step by step - prioritizing issues that directly affect progression and core gameplay.

We will continue releasing updates regularly to ensure the experience becomes stable and reliable.

I’ve been following the progress of this game for a few years now and I’m happy to say the hard work and dedication the devs have is incredible. It is challenging for sure but the attention to detail and combat is really impressive and rewarding. Sure there’s a few bugs but it runs great and I haven’t had any super game breaking bugs yet.

Between the bugs, the floaty controls, the unforgiving platforming, and the punishing length between save points, this game isn't ready for public release.

So many BUGS it's a dame shame cause the game itself is fun but unplayable!

Plauged with bugs

So many game breaking bugs. Cant use the punch and kick ability. There's a question mark. No idea which button to press. Got the water ability, can't change from water to fire. And once I got the water ability and exited the door, the game hard locked. Couldn't move or do ♥♥♥♥. Had to exit the game by force fully stopping it. Anyone else experiencing the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥ bugs? Also, when using the teleports, for some reason I couldn't climb the ledges. The character would just hang, but not...
