Probably the best stealth game I've ever played (among Thief, the MGS series, Splinter Cell, Dishonored) in regards to pure information warfare. Your ability to track guards in this cloudy gas giant is only slightly higher than their ablility to find you, resulting in a tense cat-and-mouse action that never gets stale. It does get a little unforgiving in later levels: you'll find ships with imperceptible engine noise and LIDAR resistance, snipers staying completely still far from any visible guard beacons, and proximity mines normally only detectable via sonar. Thankfully, all of these threats can be overcome with the right equipment and map knowledge.

There's an absurd amount of equipment and passive gear to choose from, and some of their interactions are so varied that (imo) they promote this game from regular stealth-action game to true immersive sim. Flares can distract enemies, but if you land a frontal hit, you can blind them for a few seconds. Any hacking weapon can shut down laser fences, mines, comms equipment, and of course, guards. The wrench can sabotage structures, create zones of sound-muffling foam, and even pry open crates that have been locked from a previous combat alert.

The aesthetics and sense of scale of this game are refreshing after the many brooding lone heroes and human foes that otherwise define stealth games. By way of the spaceship-scale missions and the gas giant environment preventing anything from being seen with the naked eye, the field of view is zoomed out and abstracted enough for imagination to fill in the blanks. Everything from the mission command's dialogue to the expanded descriptions of equipment tell the tale of a desperate cephalopod people and their struggle against an overwhelmingly evil megacorporation.

The only issues I have are how long each run is at higher difficulties (over an hour), and the stylish but eye-strainingly saturated visual design. If you have the patience and adjustments to look past those things, definitely get this game. If you enjoy it, tell others. Games like this definitely deserves more attention.
