Demo Update Coming for Steam Next Fest

On February 24, 2026, we’ll be updating the demo with improvements based on all the feedback we’ve received from our Scream Fest build (thanks to everyone who contributed - You guys rock!)

This build represents a stronger and more rounded taste of what we want to achieve with the experience.

This means tighter systems, clearer tension, fleshed out story and a better experience of what it takes to keep your business alive. So if you’ve played the demo before, this is a great time to jump back in.

If you’re new, Steam Next Fest is the perfect opportunity to see how far you’re willing to go.

We’ll share more details as we get closer to the big day.

Thank you for the support and we’ll see you on February 24.

From Playtest to Demo: A New Taste of Midwest 90

We’ve made a small but exciting change in our plans. Instead of updating the Open Playtest like we originally announced, we’ve decided to temporarily retire the playtest and launch a limited-time demo instead!

This demo will be available during Steam Scream 4 Fest (Oct 28 – Nov 4), The Shop Keepers Event (Nov 2 – Nov 16), and the DevGAMM Awards Celebration (Nov 4 – Nov 10).

We feel this latest build captures the heart of what Midwest 90 is all about — a mix of tension, survival, and good old-fashioned cooking under pressure. Having more players try it through these events is the best way for us to gather feedback and keep improving.

This isn’t our final demo though, a more comprehensive one is planned down the road with a ton of new content.

But for now, we believe in this demo, and we truly hope you enjoy your time in Rapid City.

Midwest 90: Rapid City Joins Steam Scream 4 Fest!

We’re excited to announce that Midwest 90: Rapid City will be part of Steam Scream 4 Fest this Halloween season! An updated version of our Open Playtest will go live on October 27, featuring new content and gameplay tweaks for you to sink your teeth into.

For those who’ve joined our earlier playtests, thank you. This new update may not seem massive, but that’s by design. We’re keeping some secrets close to the chest until the full release.

Whether you’re returning to the grill or stepping into the chaos for the first time, prepare for a few surprises, some new flavors, and the same creeping tension that keeps the lights on late.

The updated Open Playtest goes live 27 Oct @ 10:00am Pacific.

Stay tuned...and keep an eye on your customers.

Stuck on the loudspeaker (Devil in Disguise)

Anyone found this loudspeaker? I swear I've moused over the entirety of the maze and I found the other two items, but stuck on the speaker.

Bugs I have found

1- I dont know what causes it but in random days Karen will just say "I realize the screaming pain" and wont let me buy anything, it doesnt get fixed even if I reload the save or wait for the next day, it has caused me to restart multiple times as it doesnt allow me to buy ingredients. 2- when picking up the tiger lion sign or the arcade machine it just seems to bug out, firstly, the neon sign often times dissappears or when I try to pick it up it vanishes, secondly the arcade machine dissappears whenever...

Food storage feedback

Came across an issue when wanting to upgrade my shelf space. I bought the larger unit before selling the smaller one assuming that the stored food would automatically transfer across, but instead it was all lost. A warning for this or something similar would be useful. Otherwise enjoyable demo so far....
