Very disappointed by this game. Starts off well but exploring the rest of the map even after getting all the movement abilities is tedious at best and frustrating at worst.

Lack of checkpoints and fast-travel points make it so going back takes forever. Very hard to figure out where to go next and how to progress, especially for the true ending. Combat isn't challenging, all the challenge comes from Platforming.

Speaking of Platforming, it feels fine to move around but when it comes to the more intricate late-game platforming, the lack of checkpoints and healing make it very frustrating, not to mention that as you keep playing you keep getting heart attacks and losing health PERMANENTLY. This combined with lack of dedicated healing options (you heal by finding fountains scatterred across the world - this is the ONLY way to heal) lead to an unpleasant experience.

Upgrades range from basically useless like faster energy regen, to necessary for true-ending progression, not to mention you don't get many slots even by the end of the game.

Best part of the game was the art design, music was okay but nothing super memorable (i'm not humming anything after playing this game all week).

TLDR; save your money and buy it on super high discount. prepare for unforgiving platforming > combat. map design and where to go isn;t super intuitive. lack of checkpoints make exploring lategame frustrating.

nice game, beautiful visuals, interesting platforming very well thought out (most interesting parts closer to the end of the game). Story interesting enough to motivate you move forward. Absolutely stunning music.

To address some critique about stealing health from player. Yeah its quite frustrating (but enemies also get damaged). My biggest problem with this is inconsistency you can play 5-10 hours without loosing hp but a bit latter lose 2-3 points in a span of 1-2 hours
