The Reptilian Rising Demo Is Live Now

Hey, time travelers,

The updated Reptilian Rising demo is now live on Steam.

This version keeps the same Crusades Era slice up to the boss, but we’ve spent time refining it. You’ll notice performance improvements, a number of bug fixes, and an overall smoother and more balanced experience.

We’ve also added full controller support, along with localization in French, German, Spanish (Spain), Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese.

If you played the previous demo, we hope this feels better in your hands. If you’re new to Reptilian Rising, this is a great place to jump in.

So this game is dead, right?

Seriously, this game was shown off as part of nextfest 2022, nearly 2 years ago at this point and the devs have been radio silent since. No news posts, no update posts on the work being done on the game, nothing of substance on the website, no posts on their twitter since December of 2022, no interaction with the moderators other than locking threads asking questions, and no committal to even a release year at this point, let alone a release date. A New Demo Is Coming and We Have a Publisher

We’re excited to announce that a brand-new demo for Reptilian Rising will arrive on Steam this February 18, offering players the biggest hands-on slice of the game yet. Assemble your squad, shoot the dinosaur, and prepare to rewrite history across seven chaotic eras.

To make this even more exciting, we are officially teaming up with Numskull Games as our publishing partner. With their support, Reptilian Rising will launch this Spring on Steam, Epic Games Store, and Nintendo Switch, including a physical edition in Europe.

The full release will feature controller support, Steam Deck compatibility, and localization, because time-traveling lizard warfare should be available to everyone.

Not sure how serious this game is meant to be but 1. enemies spawning for no apparent reason in a TRPG is silly. 2. timed objectives/gimmicks suck in TRPGs 3. enemy turn should have different music and play at higher speed and less talking 4. faster faster faster...

Cool game but lacking quality of life

The game is good on concept and presentation, but playing feels very slow and awkward and hurts (ruins?) the overall experience. The camera slowly panning to every little event, playing an animation, and then waiting before panning to the next makes enemy turns feel too drawn out. Not being able to see enemystats like health and damage from afar. Not being able to zoom out the camera. Having to click a small button just to deselect an unit, instead of freely selecting units by clicking. Lack of key sh...
