v0.11.2 Development Update, Demo, & Even More Events!

Greetings, Merchants!

I hope everyone has been well! Here are more updates with our new build!

Coin System and Balancing

As we create and implement more content, one design that wasn't implemented earlier (but we feel the need to now) was a 3-tier coin system, a change from our previous 2-tier coin system.

The change will involve the introduction of Copper coins as the lowest valued coin, with Silver being in the middle, and Gold at the top, like in many other fantasy economies and some historical ones alike.

Our coins will be called the Fyon Copper, Silver Tower, and Gold Empress.

The change means the player will initially be dealing with Copper and Silver coins, while earning Gold coins will become a big achievement and an important milestone for later game content.

UI and Text System Updates

We've made meaningful updates to the way we display text, now with more ways to highlight important keywords for better legibility, as well as continuing to implement systems for localisation.

Keep an eye out for more updates on this soon.

Item Updates

With this build, we're starting to finalise and create all of the items obtainable in the game. Some existing items will also be adjusted and updated, especially their art assets.

You may notice some of these changes in our public demo as development progresses.

Content Updates

More content development is happening behind the scenes with our full game, including Story Mode and Company Mode.

Game crashed when fighting armoured enemy in demo

Tried to hit him with axe, ration and barrel (not sure about order), there were two axes on the ground already from previous round if it's important. v0.11.1 New Year, Development Update & More Events

Greetings, Merchants!

Happy New Year 2026! I hope everyone has had a great start to the year, wherever you are in the world.

Our first development update of the new year is here:

Company Mode

Continued content update to our Company Mode:

Rooms - The upgrade systems have been implemented, and half of the rooms are usable.
Functions - First iteration of each function for the usable rooms has been implemented. These will continue to be worked on and balanced in future builds.
Job Haul Inventory - A temporary inventory has been added to store goods earned from each merchant job, but this inventory must be emptied before embarking on another job, with the goods either stored in the company, used for upgrades, or sold for coins.

UI Update

Updates to the item description UI, trading inventory UI, and a few other UI elements have been made and refined from the previous build, and the ability for localisation of these UI elements has been added.

Bug Fixes

A few notable bugs in the trading system flew under the radar but have now been fixed.

Selling goods for coins didn't correctly account for item quality; this has now been fixed.
Coin levy calculations have been refined and should work more accurately

More content development is happening behind the scenes! We will be showing previews of these soon in future development posts.

More Events

Starting soon, Ten Thousand Coins: The Golden Merchant is going to be a part of the Tiny Roguelikes event, as well as the Flash Game Vibes on Steam (which will start next week), both events hosted by Rogue Duck Interactive and Gamersky Games.

Our public demo will also be updated with these latest improvements.

Here is the second part of our big v0.11.0 update, along with other news and updates!

Big UI and Design Improvements

We have more UI quality of life and better design improvements:

Selling Goods for Coins - We have updated the sell goods for coins UI to be an inventory window where you can place as many goods as you wish to sell into, allowing you to preview how many coins you will receive before committing to the sale.

Trading Goods Value UI - We have adjusted the value charts of needed goods seen on the world map to be simpler and easier to grasp when looking over them quickly, changing it from a more detailed graph. The graph system will still be unlockable during gameplay (WIP).
Roguelite UI - New UI art and descriptions for our roguelite power-ups from the Merchants Guild and Ravenn Company.
Difficulty Adjustments - We have adjusted gameplay difficulty, such as player condition (HP), enemy HP and Attack according to playtesting feedback.
Many smaller improvements, balancing, and bug fixes!

Company Mode

Big updates to our Company Mode as well, which is now also a priority alongside content development:

Rooms - You will be able to individually renovate and improve each room in the company building, with each room having multiple functions as well.

Functions - Each room will contain different functions that you can build and upgrade with coins (and goods), for example, the Tavern will have the Bar function (allowing you to hire travellers that come to your company for a drink) and the Kitchen function (allows you to cook up meals to bring with you on your jobs and more).

Combat System

Adjustments and balancing have been made to the combat system, with a big improvement being you can now select multiple goods to attack or defend with. These goods can also combine their boost/afflictions when selecting multiple goods to attack/defend at the same time.

This improvement also speeds up combat by reducing the number of unnecessary UI interactions that previously slowed down gameplay.

Content Updates

We have also begun building new game content for the upcoming builds, and are also in the process of implementing all the necessary systems for game localisation.

Phenomenal bartering system, mild technical issues

First game that has really had bartering feel like bartering! The limited inventory (both the NPCs and yours), the impatience mechanic, it all works great! Had an issue with fullscreen not working right - maximizing the window didn't work, resulted in part of the window off the bottom. Really looking forward to final game!...

Great demo! Some questions and (hopefully, useful) feedback.

I liked the characters, the gameplay, the setting and the story. It hit all the notes! I do think that a bit more complex dialogue would be nice, (adding this in after typing everything else out - I mean when you're asking the few questions to each person you trade with/etc) but that might not be the sort of thing everyone else is seeking. Guards didn't seem very useful on my short demo adventure - the one I obtained would have taken maybe a dozen turns to slay one of the basic enemies, though I suppose it...

Great Demo - but the bater system could be changed

I really liked the demo, it was great. I think there's a lot of meat and bones to the game however I think the barter system needs a bit of an overhaul especially with the % Sometimes I will be offering someone items they really need "^^" items and I maybe make 30 copper and they still say NO even during the impatient stage. I think that's really sucky, and slow....
