Happy Passover and Easter Weekend, everybody! I was playing around with fixing some bugs this morning, and lo and behold, I got them finished! So... yeah why not push the update?

The big change in this latest update is that "Maximized" no longer Fullscreens the game, but instead will squash it in between your taskbar and the game's header bar. Not my preferred way to play, but it should work just fine regardless. Note that playing the game Maximized does modify the aspect ratio of the window, which in turn will make Studio thumbnails ever so slightly squished. I personally recommend going back into Fullscreen mode or a standard 16:9 window before taking a Steam Workshop thumbnail, but that's only because I'm a stickler for these kinds of things. You do you!

Changes

Game: Maximized no longer Fullscreens the game, but leaves the header bar visible instead.
Studio: Added an extra check for if the Thumbnails folder does not exist when saving an image.

Bug Fixes

Splash Screen: Implemented a potential fix for the Thumbnails folder not being created at initial setup. If by some chance the Thumbnails folder STILL does not exist after both of these checks, go into your Local Content folder (accessible from the Main Menu and Mondrian Maker) and create it yourself. It should sit alongside the Levels, Backgrounds, Data, etc. folders.
Game: Fixed some bugs with switching between Keyboard, Mouse, and Controller UI’s on the fly in Adventure Mode.
Maker: Fixed Stamping not painting blocks when Shuffle Colors is toggled off.
Studio: Fixed thumbnails not being scaled correctly when the game window is maximized, rather than fullscreen.
Museum: Fixed some bugs with switching between Keyboard, Mouse, and Controller UI’s on the fly.

Whether you are playing the Free Admission demo or the Lifetime Pass version, please leave a review! You may not know this, but Steam won't generate a score for a game until it hits at least 10 reviews. Even more, the platform limits profile features, like Achievements showing up or Trading Cards being available, until a score is generated. Breaking that 10 review barrier would be a dream come true. You can leave a review for either the full game or the demo, whichever you're on. All honest reviews - positive OR negative - are very much appreciated.

1.0.6 Hotfix

Hi all! Noticed a small bug with the trees in the museum with regards to counting hours, particularly if you hadn't opened a present in the last 24 hours. Now there's an extra time check for that possibility. I'll keep an eye on it for the next few days and will tweak it if it needs tweaking....

1.6.2 Beta - Even more small fixes

Hi all. There's a test build now up on the beta branch. This has some potential fixes for the game not generating a Thumbnails folder on first setup, Stamping in Mondrian Maker not painting blocks the color in the main swatch when the Shuffle Button is off, maximizing the window fullscreening the game (now maximizing leaves a header bar), and ugly extra bleed space around the frame when capturing thumbnails with the window maximized.

Maximized captures will still give a slightly wider result than expected (for instance, a 1x1 capture will be more like 1.05x1) just due to the nature of the window squashing because of the taskbar. Overall then I still recommend capturing your thumbnails in either Windowed or Fullscreen mode (Alt-Enter works just fine), but you do you.

Ideally I'll push this build to the default branch in a week if there are no other issues, but let me know how it works for you in the meantime. Thanks!

Just a few fixes for Mondrian 1.6.1

Mondrian - Plastic Reality has been updated to version 1.6.1. This latest patch includes a few important bug fixes and some new control glyphs.

Features

Game: Added Mouse controls to Story interactions, with brand new Left and Right mouse click glyphs.
Museum: Added the same mouse controls for the story.
Maker: With the Confirm button held down, you can now use the D-Pad on a controller to nudge sliders one pixel at a time.

Changes

Menu: Adventure Mode’s selection has been removed in the Free Admission demo.
Menu: Improved functionality when selecting Quit Game using the keyboard.
Museum: It is no longer possible to clear spotlight artworks or pedestals with the story up.
Manual: Updated Manual to include info about using D-Pad to nudge sliders in Mondrian Maker.

Bug Fixes

Maker: The platform button now gets destroyed when the Share window is closed.
Maker: Block transparency now sets properly if Phasing is active when a level is opened or the Difficulty is incremented.
Maker: Fixed the cursor automatically moving down and right when dragging a block with Grid Snap off while using a controller.
Maker: Fixed the Color Select shifting around every time you create a new block, with Color Shuffle on, while using a controller.
Maker: Fixed the Color Shuffle button not toggling properly with the Confirm button when using a controller.

Like I mentioned last month, smaller bug-fix updates like this one can still happen, so if you run into anything else please let me know.

Update to the Little Update

Hi all! The Creators Update is going very well, and 90% of the new features are working, including color palette changes & a big update to how backgrounds load. As you probably guessed though, there is a slight delay in getting the update out. Nothing bad, I just haven't had much time to program with three events coming up, namely East Coast Games Conference, the Game Carnival, and RazerDevCon.
