I played 3-4 hours and each death I feel I was robbed. I started with mouse and keyboard and then I changed to controller, the outcome is the same. The cover system is so infuriating that it is insane. How many times have I tried to run and the character just sticks to the nearest box and either eats bullets or a melee attack. You can't even see how many more hits your cover can take before crumbling and oftentimes you end up with an arena where every cover is damaged with enemies that can rapidfire.

The controls sometimes seem non-responsive and that is pretty evident when even the dialogue box skipping needs mashing for the command to go through. This game is dark most of the time due to the environment and oftentimes I get hit by something I couldn't see. There is no proper 'build' yet, at least not at where I am right now. If you disable auto aim for controller, then you will notice the enemy hitbox is pretty small whereas they have impeccable aim. Best part? This is not even the harder difficulties, just the default.

I cannot recommend this frustration to anyone else.

----- after finishing the game
1) Since you are forced to spend all your progression currency in every run, you are forced to expand the possible drops from the pool, thus making the RNG even worst. What is the use of a flare gun when the enemy has over 300 hp? In the end I spread out the currency to the remaining unlockables to avoid unlocking more items.
2) There are 2 bugs, one where your character becomes invisible and cannot shoot and another where you cannot shoot at the enemy boss. The first bug requires a reload while the second one you just melee the boss to death
3) In the final encounter, you actually have to topple the pillars where each friendly soul is standing, otherwise it doesn't count. I completed a run completely baffled as to why the achievement did not pop.
4) You can be put in a hit-stun state by various attacks and your item will not trigger even if you mash. You will also be in a hit-stun state if a destroyed cover respawn when you are standing at the location. Lastly, there is an enemy that can freeze you on hit from range or melee, you have to prioritize it.

Just don't bother with this game.
