Endless mode was added several days after release! Quick turnaround and excited to try it again with this feature!

If you like the game Dev Tycoon, you will like it. It has a very similar concept and strong execution overall. There are some balancing issues and confusion on how to advance faster, but overall, there is much to explore. I hope there are additional features and an easier way to develop a cinematic universe if you want to go that path

Because it is Yay or Nay I will vote Yay but barely. So now I am going to mostly complain a lot.

If you have played one of these before you know what it is. The cards can be fun and I can see the appeal to the harder difficulties even if it usually equates to picking a 270 strategy and going all in. Also it seems like the AI has wayyyyy more energy and money then you do playing as the same character of higher difficulties.

The biggest complaint I have is the lack of National elements that are missing or week, there should be more passive fundraising based on national enthusiasm, regional and national ad buys etc. Also let us have longer games with more time, one time frame is unnecessarily limiting. Also just because I font campaign in California as a D or Texas as an R doesn't mean no one there is enthusiastic about me. Again the National elements would drive this games realism farther.

The Primaries is a good add and welcomed but this too seems designed for people to have close races over the reality of most primaries being 1 or 2 people races after the first few contests. This again could be aided by having more time in the primaries themselves.

States that act like each other should have more similar movements in both the primaries and the general. I know there are things we can do to spread our influence but the lack of network effect makes the game harder to be taken seriously.

Early Access Review
UPDATE: Game keeps freezing my troops during attacks. Has only happened on the hardest dificulity but they just stand there and take damage for a long time and I cant get them to move or attack.... please fix!

I do not normally write reviews but for this game I enjoy it a great deal but hope somethings can improve. So if the review seems overly critical know that I think you should buy this if you like city building and defense games.

The loop of this game is very fun and "just one more day" has already happened to me a few times.

Some areas I currently have an issue with:
-Troop mapping - with over 100 archers getting them to get up on a wall often just doesnt work and you have to take the partial troops down and send them up in chunks which is annoying and time consuming.

-Speed of days - the later you get into games the more I wish there was a 2x - 5x like speed. It is possible a 5x speed would be too fast and cause issues with my ability to prepare day to day but 9 minutes can often be long during days

-Building management - the menu they made for staffing levels is nice but if I click on the building I want it to take me to it on the map. When I am trying to expand capacity of a building it is hard to find the ones you havent done yet.

-Consistency of threat at night - some nights you get massive attacks which are fun and involve active management. Some nights after that I get like 40 archers and a few other basic troops. - some more consistency would I think be nice to not have days you prepare for only to wipe them out in seconds.

-Performance - I have an i5-6600K and a GTX 1070 so nothing flashy but this game - with an army of 200+ - runs poorly. I am sure this is a known issue, but the game is becoming borderline unplayable late game when it should be its most fun.

-Additional buildings / upgrades late game - I feel like by day 10-15 I upgraded everything and have all of my production running full bore on 5 difficulty. I will continue to push up the difficulty but then knowledge has very little value. I am not sure what else to add but this is early access so I am sure more is coming.

Just finished the base campaign. It was very good, varied mission, varied group powers. One mission was particularly annoying but outside of that it was very fun. Looking forward to playing with and against friends

App has been largely fixed since launch, it is still not perfect but it markedly improved.

Pros:

At its core is the best tower defense out there
Pick 2/3 path is a great twist and provides a lot of options
Daily challenges are good ways to change up the game and encourage a daily check ins
Game receives new updates and items consistently

Cons
Custom challenge maker needs some kind of public option to find challenges made by others
Microtransactions are not terrible but are present and can factor into certain rewards. Playing daily usually means you can avoid them
