I was pleasantly surprised at the ability of this game to hold my interest. It really feels like you are part of the South Park community and in control of a feature-length programme. There's plenty of humour throughout the story, as would be expected, and the plot ties in nicely with the shows and is filled with content to make the more avid South Park fans smile.

I've only played through once as a thief, but can definitely see the value in playing through again using one of the other character classes. Many locations have hidden areas accessible by utilising your buddy, crossbow and some of the farting skills. It can take a little while to find all the collectibles and some are only gainable at certain points during the game, so you need to be extra vigilant, although older RPG players will be used to looking in every nook and cranny possible!

Overall, I think it's a pretty good game and it was the first instance in quite a long time I felt happy to complete a title from start to finish without getting bored. Definitely recommended to South Park fans, those with a dark sense of humour, and those with a love for RPGs. If, like me, you are all three, you cannot fail to enjoy the game!

Early Access Review
Football Tactics is quite a decent casual game that you can pick up anytime and/or get addicted to.

The game mechanics work on a simple duelling premise between two players across 4 player stats (Accuracy, Passing, Defence, Control), with the addition of several skills/abilities which can turn the game in your favour.

Being an indie title, obviously there is no licencing for official team/player names, which isn't an issue for me or likely anybody that spent their childhood playing Pro Evolution Soccer. There are a number of things you can upgrade for your club (stadium, scouts, coaches, etc.) to help improve the players you have and club finances. However, it becomes a bit of a grind and there is a lack of variety to the gameplay beyond this.

Overall, it's likely to keep you entertained for a little while, or a bit longer if you multi-task like me and play the game sporadically in addition to doing other things. There's a lot of potential with this title and I would expect "Football Tactics 2" at some point, with development of the current gameplay and a load of additional features.

Score: 3/5
