garry's mod is the worst kind of modder, a developer of an unfinished product that never sees completion and keeps it around for all sorts of reasons to make more money as a community-based game. If you're going to release an unfinished product then at least have the balls to make it great on time and have your friends recommend the product.

In that way, I'm glad that Valve gave us this mod! It's an attempt to keep some sense of a game that never got out of beta so that there may still be a modding community out there that could take advantage of it. It's still a great idea, but at this point things are looking pretty crappy already and most of all because of how much of a terrible idea modding is (as opposed to some kind of new mechanic the game should be using).
