The NEXT update was certainly comprehensive, but it didn't address the main reason I stopped playing the game: There doesn't seem to be much of a point to anything. I was/am just looking for a relaxing and immersive game, but the small things in the game just break my immersion at every turn.

There is almost no AI for the creatures you'll find on a planet. They wander around aimlessly and do not interact with the fauna or other creatures.
There is still a ton of pop-in for textures and objects, especially when flying (I'm on a 1080).
Deep space is a very colorful place, with almost no deep-blacks or stary skies to be found.
Every planet will look mostly the same. Some minor aspects change, but generally the fauna will be randomly assigned to the landscape with no such thing as dense forests, mountain ranges, sheer cliffs, towering trees/plants, etc. It all becomes very "samey."

That's not to say that I don't think anyone else would like this game, it's just not for me. Almost nothing in the game feels fully realized or implemented, even after two years of updates.
