Iron Marines presents you with a laid back RTS tower defense hybrid that hosts a charming cast of heroes and squads to make game play interesting and entertaining. The difficulty settings are fair for the most part, not cheap and stupid. The story is deeper than it looks. And if you're a Kingdom Rush veteran like me, then this game will be a delight (especially when you unlock Sha'tra).

But every game is not without its cons. The biggest and only real con for me was the AI. Oh my God... sometimes you'll have squads or heroes where if you issue a command to move or attack something, they'll move part way and then stop, making you have to issue the command again. Or sometimes if you're not paying attention, you'll have individual squad members randomly suicide running into a group of enemies. If you're trying to single target enemies for your group to focus on, your squads will sometimes ignore the command. You sometimes have your tanks running away from targets. When you command your snipers or channelers to target a specific enemy, sometimes your snipers/channelers will run right up to the enemy and out of relative safety to attack. Headache inducing to constantly babysit your units, especially on higher difficulties.

Apart from that gripe, Iron Marines is a fun pick up that will keep you occupied for a solid 30-60 hours.
