Don't be fooled, the game might look like a fun co-op rougelite, but...
The game was shallow, not much variety in runs, builds, characters or areas.

I picked up the game this summer while it was still in early access. The 1.0 update released September 18th, 27th of October the developers announced that the servers would shut down the same week. The game requires online authentication to run. There is no peer to peer, local co-op, or community owned/driven servers. The game is literally no longer playable.

Do not buy this game, do not support the team behind it, and ask for a refund if you're unlucky enough to have purchased it.

Two abandoned campaigns and over thirty dead heroes later... Ninetysix weeks had passed on the final campaign. Fourteen headstones now littered the graveyard. But all bosses were slain, the darkest dungeon was cleared, and so the otherworldly corruption was finally stopped. Despite the hardships, I really enjoyed the 90ish hours it took for me to beat it. Darkest Dungeon is one of the best singleplayer games I have ever played!

As the name implies this heist is mid. The new campaign is shaping up to be pretty good, but this heist was a weak start. The mounted machine guns and new special unit are both nice additions, but the rest of the heist just feels uninspired. Objectives both loud and stealth are slow and boring (building weapons? nah, just a prolonged fetch quest). Compared to the previous heist DLC (Mountain Master) this is a big step down. I would not recommend picking it up by itself. Buy the midland bundle instead, with that you'll at least get some good content in the form of firearms.

The game has been on a downward spiral ever since the conclusion of the story back in 2018. There have been some ups, but mostly downs. Recent DLC have been mediocre at best. Updates have been mostly bad, with questionable rebalances and additions. Overall quality of updates and DLC have been pretty low. Don't get me wrong the game is still playable and enjoyable, but being 100% honest - they should have discontinued support and let it die with some modicum of dignity.

The most recent update (237) has been an absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. It has left multiplayer in a near unplayable state. It completely killed mod-support for a while, and they have shut down support for Linux. This was the final nail in the coffin, I no longer have hope for PAYDAY3. Overkill have proven time and time again that they are incompotent game developers.

Update as of late 2023.
Payday 3 had a terrible launch, thankfully Payday 2 is still playable, right? Far from it, this game is also in a terrible state. U237 matchmaking issues have not yet been fully addressed. About one third of all lobbies are an instant "failed joining game". Most multi-day heists will boot you out on attempting to start day two. Joining friends will also fail quite often, despite both players being on the same platform. There are also numerous performance issues. I have not seen many myself, but the forums are filled with crash and low framerate complaints. U237 also opened the floodgates to degeneracy as the game is F2P on EGS. More often than not the lobbies on crimenet are hosted by a cheater, dlc unlocker, SA, carry stacker, helper mods, you get the gist. Don't waste your time, nor money on this game. The golden age of Payday is long gone, what remains is a sad sight.
