Many of you have of course played Resident Evil or Silent Hill Games this game is a mix between the two of those beloved franchises. So far as of the writing of this review i've finished the game 2 times, gonna start a third one in the maximum difficulty [AKUMU].

Gameplay: The gameplay itself is like Resident Evil 4 with the exception that you don't shoot enemies in the head and kick them like leon does. In this game you have to carefully choose when to fight and when to flee from a battle, enemies in this game are no joke. They can and WILL beat the living ♥♥♥♥ out of you if they have the chance. Resources are very lacking and most of the time you're wishing to go back and try to do things better because of it hoping you could reach another area with more ammo.

Bosses: The game features quite a small amount of bosses but every one of them is memorable i won't mention any of them in particular because i wish for this review to remain spoiler-free but trust me all of them are good, some of them will insta-kill you but that actually makes the fights more urgent and frustrating, which is good in a horror game because you want to feel that way.

Story: The story isn't really an over the top complicated story but it also isn't just "yeah lol i'll figure it out", if you wish to understand why the game is the way it is you should pay close attention to dialogues and also read the texts scattered throughout the game, there aren't many as you can see i have 28 hours in the game and i've already beaten it 2 times, first playthrough took me 10 hours and the 2nd one 4 and a half hours + a few hours from the DLCs (which are short too from what i can gather)


Camera: MY GOD is the camera AWFUL in this game, when you're just running around and exploring it's ok but dear god when you're trying to aim...WHY on earth does it have to be so close to you? it might as well should've been a first person horror game if they intended the camera to be that way (which they probably considered since in the Microsoft Store version you can play in first person)

The Protagonist: Look, don't get me wrong, i like Sebastian Castellanos..but he..he's just a piece of wood..i get it, he's meant to be that way because of his past and also the fact that he's a hardened detective but a little bit more of reaction from him or dialogue other than trying to be Nu-leon from re4 remake onwards just saying cheesy stuff isn't cool, in fact it's what i dislike the most about Leon now that he just throws cheesy lines everywhere and backflips. But i can say for sure, Sebastian you're one handsome feller my man.

The DLCs: As of this review i've only finished [THE ASSIGNMENT] and so far i can say it's a boring DLC..like sure, it expands on the lore but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that it's boring to play..The game has you on an action-survival horror gameplay guns blasting (as long as you have the ammo) and then this DLC is just..nothing...boring..well if you like being chased and having to evade every enemy you encounter and stealth you might like it, but me personally i don't enjoy that kind of game if [THE CONSEQUENCE] is the same as this i'll be very dissapointed.

The main game is a masterpiece if you ignore the bad things like the camera and the fact that poor sebastian lacks charm..i would 100% recommend buying it when it's on sale. Maybe look up the DLCs on youtube if boring evade and stealth games aren't your cup of tea.

Perfomance on my system were a constant 60FPS at a 1366x768 60HZ monitor.

I’ve played many RPGs—Earthbound, Final Fantasy, Persona—but NO GAME I’ve ever played comes close to being as good as this one. As a Final Fantasy lover, this game's aesthetics, setting, music, and gameplay are just perfect, this game is just on his own level.


Atmospheric Dread: It’s a mix of "horror"-esque and desolation. From the very moment the game begins, you just know something is off. You feel that dread in every corner of the world and the dialogues with the NPCs or "Souls"(i still don't know what they are) makes the game 10 times more interesting.

Strategic Gameplay: My only issue was the limited skill set, but that’s actually what makes it unique. In most RPGs, you just spam a "Super Duper" skill once you unlock it. Here, every slot and every choice matters. The Press Turn system is rewarding yet punishing; one wrong move and it's Game Over.

Demon Negotiation: I love how you don't just "find" teammates. You have to talk to them, bribe them, and sometimes they just take your money and run! It adds personality to the game and charm, making the encounters like rolling a dice, you either recruit that demon you desperately need or the bastard runs away with everything you gave him.

Masterpiece OST: I’m totally glad they kept the original soundtrack. Music is a very important part of the games i play, and I wouldn't have liked any changes to it at all. The Depths of Amala theme alone is worth the price of admission, but my favorite has to be the pre-fiend battle and the fiend battle theme, the mood is just so perfect, you get the feeling that you're definetly going to face and powerful or unique enemy, and it definetly is the case with most fiends, they aren't your normal bosses or default encounters..

The Skill Limit: As I mentioned, you have a very limited set of skills. It’s frustrating when you have to overwrite a cool move you liked just to survive the next boss. It forces you to be strategic, but it can feel restrictive.

Brutal Difficulty Spikes: If you are coming from Persona or Final Fantasy, be warned: this game doesn't hold your hand. You can be at full HP and get wiped in one turn if the RNG isn't on your side or you make 1 wrong move.

The Map & Navigation: Some dungeons (looking at you, Amala) can be a maze-like nightmare. If you don't have patience for back-tracking or getting lost, this might get on your nerves.

This is the first "Shin Megami Tensei" game I've played aside from Persona 4, and I completely understand why it gets all the praise. It completely deserves it.

Far Cry 3 is a must play for sure
This videogame is so good literally every game ubisoft has ever done has been a copypaste of this one, except for the story. Gameplay is fantastic gunplay feels smooth and killing enemies is satisfactory plus you have a reason to do so you're not just mindlessly killing enemies for the sake of it, the story is simple and realistic in some ways, it involves drug usage and stuff so i wouldn't let a kid play this game, although most kids nowadays play some weird ♥♥♥♥ anyways, if you ever have some spare money and see this game on sale definitely buy it, you won't regret it, this game deserves all the praise it receives plus it's a relatively short game, you can probably beat it in under 10 hours.

this game is great, as a huge fan of metal gear solid V (i've beated it like 4 times) i finally managed to buy this game and give it a try despite everyone saying it was trash.

the combat may be a bit clunky but overall the "Survival" aspect of the game is pretty fun.

the story so far seems OK easy to understand and some humour here and there.

the music is something i always look into the most on games which this one sadly failed, the music is too boring and over the top unneccesarily most of the time.
the perfomance is beautiful, i have a few stutters but that's because of the always online ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ they decided to implement I have a pentium dual core 2,7ghz 2GB of ram and a GTX 710 2gb, game runs at 30fps all minimum (ultra and low literally makes no visual difference other than perfomance) and it runs great,
i'd say if you peep at it while on Sale like i did you won't be dissapointed
the only thing it's a shame it's that no one's playing multiplayer :/

and of course if you're a metal gear fan DON'T buy this game expecting something like metal gear, the only thing this game shares with metal gear it's the name
