Oh no, I didnt auto paint to the tu skeleton. I had a mesh I manually rigged all by myself. I made the skeleton and auto weight painted and it worked very well. Its just when I renamed the bones it caused it to squish.

dont use auto weight paint on blender its make your model broaken so here is an old video thats help you a bit whis the painting and rename the bones https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYnYWDALONI

Then do you just rename the parts to the tu skeleton? I tried that with another model I managed to auto weight paint but it caused the mesh to get crushed into itself.

Hey

so i use the default weight painting from the model, maybe put some other parts together and painting it soft and bit bigger always make sure that the weight painting on the bends overlaps slightly and paint it from red to yellow green lightblue sats it. it's hard to explain but look at how your model looks at default weight painting
