I had this game sitting in my library untouched for a while. Then my brother got a PC, called me and was like "We're gaming". Mind you, he plays on console mostly so this was exciting for me. We played Left 4 Dead 2 together and then The Forest got brought up and it's been a hot minute since I played an open world survival game; kind of got bored with them. I think the combination of getting to game on PC with my brother and a change of pace really fueled me finally hitting install.

Nearly 6 hours in and I really enjoy the vibes. It feels chill for a moment and then it's dark and you're sweating a bit about gathering resources. The sound design is great, the unsettling ambiance at night and the sudden howling of the wind during a nice sunny day. And don't get me started on the first descent into the caves...

The Descent was all I could think about. I was genuinely spooked. And Iove it!

After a long day of dealing with the stress of life... firing up this game to rip and tear just helps melt away all that stress. It's therapeutic. And it's just brilliant f*cking game.

This game went in a direction I did not expect! I beat The New Order about 2 weeks prior to finally starting this up on Über for my very first playthrough and was absolutely surprised by it. The game was just as fun and intense as before. There were definitely heart-wrenching and VERY stressful moments. I didn't rage as much this time around, however, I felt very satisfied the more I progressed. Having already beaten The New Order, I was invested in BJ's survival and the survival of the people he cared about. There were many moments of Déjà vu. This game even managed to scare the !@#$ out of me. It was damn good. 9.5/10

The Wolfenstein series was suggested to me back in 2016 when I played DOOM 4 for the very first time. Much like DOOM, I played this for the very first time at the hardest difficulty from start to finish and I enjoyed every second of it from start to finish. Sure, it took me over 50 hours but I would do it again in a heartbeat. This game was fun, intense, it made me smile, it was heart-wrenching, stressful, rage inducing, and incredibly satisfying and I was so completely invested to the point where I was in tears by the end. I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love it. 10/10.

Early Access Review
I picked this up almost immediately after watching a twitch.tv broadcaster, SeriouslyClara, play the early access from start to finish. (check her out @ http://twitch.tv/seriouslyclara)

So excited and impressed by my experience, my plan was to play it myself the very next day. And I did: http://www.twitch.tv/professorminerva/v/19742558

Both as the viewer and as the player (even more so as the player), I was immersed and immediately captivated by the flawless and very fluid story telling. I was enchanted and chilled by the hauntingly beautiful piano played at the beginning and throughout the game, the sounds, music, and use of visual transitions kept me interested to know more and more about the story unravelling before my very eyes. It left me feeling eager and dreading what was to come all at once.

This game, unlike most horror games I've played recently, does not realy on jump scares alone. The terror stems from the events and happenings of a man and his family who are experiencing situations that can happen in life, which makes it feel VERY real and unsettling. The psychology behind the events and the impact it has on our painter and his wife and child (children?) has conjured up a very dark and unseen evil... The unseen, for me, is quite possibly the most scary part about this game.

I am excited to experience the rest of the game. I would highly recommend this game to any horror enthusiast and anyone who appreciates art and story telling. This is a MUST HAVE! It's one thing to watch someone play this game, but to experience it yourself... is ALWAYS the better experience.
