Hey man, noticed you posted Proton review of Just Cause 3. I had the same problem and I think I figured out a fix. You have to run Just Cause using gamemode (utility that you have to install). After that you have to add launch option to the game in steam library:

LD_PRELOAD=$LD_PRELOAD:/usr/\$LIB/libgamemodeauto.so %command%
