I love Dark Forces, I was thrilled when news of a remaster emerged, given how much I cherished playing it as a child. However, after spending some time with the remaster, I find it to be merely satisfactory. While the cutscenes boast improved quality and the textures receive a slight resolution bump, most other enhancements, such as mouse-operated camera controls, could be easily replicated with mods on the original version. Considering these factors alongside the €28,99 price tag, I can't help but feel that the remaster falls short of justifying its cost.

This is one of my favorite games that I just cannot recommend. I'm getting a too much performance issues with my 'recommended' specs. The patches that came out don't do much in therms of performance. The gameplay however is so much fun. I managed to play through the story on low settings with on average 30-40 FPS, but the performance is different on every planet, sometimes I could bump the settings all the way to high and get a solid 145 FPS, then I travel to another planet and I'm back on low at 30 FPS.
