Short and sweet, a gorgeously rendered adventure for when you want a nice tight story you can complete in an afternoon.

Beautiful, meaningful. Peace found in the hell is always on lease from the Devil. But focusing on the feeling of the divine skateboard and taking in the sounds of grinding concrete makes that bargain the only possible choice. 10/10

One of the most beautiful games I've ever played. An incredible achievement artistically, cinematically, atmospherically. Nothing else feels quite like this.

Early Access Review
Playing this game reminds me of what it felt like playing early access games in the 2010s— that is to say this is a game that is actually in an early state. It feels like most modern EA releases come out way more polished.

But despite its rough edges, this feels like an uncompromising, 3D adaptation of the Hyper Light combat formula that won’t hold your hand. Similar to Hyper Light Drifter, this game keeps text explanations to a minimum and expects the player to learn by poking and prodding at the different systems.

It’s a very difficult game to play solo and it takes effort to even unlock and utilize medkits. But if you play with friends it lightens the load by a lot by distributing aggro between mobs.

The hoverboard feels like a compromise, the physics and movement on it feeling slippery and strange. But the way it flows into all of your other navigation abilities is important.

Overall I’ve really loved my time with it, despite the rough edges. Progression is slow and it’s important to fail. A botched run can have you still sending weapons and utilities to your vault to build up for another run. Failing four times and regenerating the map is the only way to get some currency you need for upgrading. Don’t be afraid to fail. Do it often and do it quickly.

It’s funny but this game often feels like my experience playing the Elden Ring multiplayer mod. Though while that was giving an unintended experience, the fast past movement is part of HLB’s experience. I think that with continued support this could become an all timer indie classic.

Thank you, Heart Machine! ❤️

Eden Rising: Supremacy takes familiar concepts and combines them to create a unique blend of exploration and tower defense that is just a blast to play.

The world is pre-authored and not procedurally generated like most survival games, which makes exploration feel more deliberate and meaningful. Exploring allows you to find new resources and grow your teams ability to survive.
Rather than building your own base from nothing, the game charges you with protecting different "crucibles." From here, players can build tower-defense style obstacle courses for waves of enemies to file through. Waves are activated by the players and the reward for completing them is advancement along the skill tree and unlocking new blueprints for craftable items and upgrades.

This flow of exploration, collection, and defense has a unique flow I haven't seen in most games and really gives the feeling of being able to do what the team wants at any given time. The result is a relaxing, co-operative game best played with friends.

The only weak point is in the combat, which feels rigid and locked within the games animations and takes some time to get the feel of.
