I'm sorry, if you want me to buy your "DX" edition, kindly offer a discount for owners of the original.

A good demo so far! Definitely taking inspiration from Parasite Eve, and I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes.

So the entire time I was playing this demo, the ground texture would not load in. Fiddled with some graphics settings and verified the file integrity, but the ground was just see through (not the grass, but the ground itself). I liked the variety of races--not a lot of open world RPGs that offer such a wide range of options. Movement was fine, swinging my sword felt a little hard to control, as I seemed to advance as I executed my combo. Also I was trying to use the sword only, but it seemed to auto-equip the shield anyway. Fighting the goblins was...not great. They recovered quickly, and I found myself getting hit after ending my attack animation because of it. The archer goblins were a pain, as they also recovered quickly from getting hit or shot. The part where you fight four goblins at once was difficult in a non-fun way. The goblins could seem to fire very fast, and could track my movements and plug me with arrows no matter what I did. Tried to dispatch the archers first, but the melee goblins caught up to me fast and I had to panic dodge roll constantly to avoid attacks, so I don't know how I would adjust it to make it better, but the combat just feels a bit rough. The demo itself was very short, but it's a demo so that's okay. The lack of any magic was a bit of a bummer, and I would have liked to try some of the other available weapon types. In short, an interesting alpha concept, but needs some fixes regarding visuals and combat. Good luck to the devs with the future of this game.

EDIT: So the devs directly responded to my issue about the ground and, I'm happy to say, they were able ot fix it to where I can see it. Thank you for listening! The combat feels a little better, goblin archers can still tag me mid dodge roll, but other than that, it feels much better! I'd say give it a try yourself.

Played a very long time ago, but saw this on sale and thought I'd offer my two cents. The basic gameplay is exploring the home you haven't seen in a long time, and piecing together the story that had taken place while you were away. It left me guessing, questioning, and dreading what may have happened. With it currently on sale, I'd say it is well worth the price if you're into coming-of-age or mystery games. No action, no horror, but a well-written story.

Serviceable.

That's the best way I can describe this. It works as a serviceable Souls-like (dodge roll and stamina meter) in an isometric perspective. Attack animations from both you and the enemy feel a bit too slow, and getting stunlocked is a real possibility when you run up against larger groups of enemies. The visuals are nice, but I read in another comment stated they were all reused assets, so not sure where I stand on that. The sound production is all over the place. Sound effects are decent, and the voice acting is just...there. Achilles' VA tried to go for a raspy, edgy voice, but it's really just cringeworthy. NPC's acting is not great either. The lock on is horrendous, twitching between enemies on occasion, and when you kill an enemy, it will immediately auto-lock onto another enemy, and more than once it had locked onto an enemy on the other side of the screen, not even engaged in the current fight.

I guess it's worth it on discount, but I don't know if I'll pick it back up to finish it.

A good game mired by sweaty tryhards that curse you out if you don't play to their rigid standards. Shame to see.

A fascinating take on turn based combat. A great game to play with a friend (have yet to try in a random lobby).

The feeling of fighting with the music makes the beatdowns so much fun. I highly recommend this for rhythm and beat 'em up fans.

Hectic, intense, and sometimes hilarious. Very fun game with a group of friends.
