Playing since its release, and even at this time I didn't get the review bombing for the "awful performance" when comparing to everyone posting their specs, I'm either similar to them, either slight above/under and running the game in the highest settings with DLSS 100% x2 Frame Gen at 160+fps so basically 80/90fps otherwise depending on the areas, I do that on purpose since I have a high refresh rate monitor. (before 1.3 patch, BUT with drivers updated.)

The game itself so far is fine, the map is really cool to explore, the intertwined world is really enjoyable and actually well done, reminding old DS1 hours. So far the only thing that actually felt like a downside, is the fact that if an enemy is doing an attack, you basically cannot stagger him at all, making sometimes short attacking windows a health trade off. I'm not complaining about the difficulty, but more the lack of coherance when you hit a basic NPC with a huge ass weapon, charged attack, and they basically still attack you (sometimes even interrupt you) with the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ attack they can do. Some light adjustments could have been done on this side, even tho it's not terrible, would just have been better overall.
The map itself is really beautiful, has lots of diversity, and as someone dared to complain there's no jump button, YOU LITERALLY DON'T NEED IT. The game is made in a way you wouldn't need anything like that, blaming the game just to blame it.
Some weapons could definitely have more impact, especially thinking about the dual swords for now that I'm playing, they are cool to play, but not a huge fan of the moveset itself and the "hit" feeling. But I'm trying every weapon. Not sure about the long sword seemingly being as fast as lighter weapon with bigger damage output when it's supposed to be leaning more toward the heavy side like the spears (that are really super slow and heavy making it really difficult to make a full combo as you can get interrupted by just an enemy breathing.)
As well as a little bit sad about armors, I know there's still a lot to discover, but so far, I think there's not a lot of diversity that changes the hairstyle itself, sometimes having the exact same one but with just one more accessory to it. Nothing really terrible, buuuut, still worth noting it.

In conclusion, yes, Wuchang doesn't really CHANGE the Souls-like gameplay nor bring it anything new, that's a fact, BUT what it does, it actually does it well, a solid base, there's flaws here and there for sure, room for improvements, but it still remains the first game like that, and it has a really cool feeling, story so far seems interesting if you want to get into it (you can just ignore anything, you won't be forced to follow it, connected world, with lots of shortcuts, some nice rewards if you really search for them, great boss designs (designs, not talking about patterns, I can't really give a proper opinion as I'm surely far from finishing the game still). Animations are great giving a heavy-grounded realistic feeling to the combats (again sometimes lacks of coherance PERSONALLY and some could feel slightly faster than another (dual blade and long sword), or have more / less damage compared to the heaviness of it (again long sword / spears).

If you're really sceptical, then sure, why not waiting for a sale, but if you're curious, and there's stuff you're interested in, then giving it a go is probably your best answer. See by yourself if you enjoy it, the game isn't perfect, but has some really nice things to share and give to any player willing to play it.

(I'll try to keep this updated if there's anything changing my mind, either good or bad.)

I'm still looking for the psychological horror in the game?
No because few screamers with loud sounds, and a monster that is exactly where you have to go every time, that's not psychological horror, that's just the basic horror games from 2015 lmfao.

Different places are ok, but bodies on the ground aren't creepy at all, I'm tired of seeing every 2mins the same dude crawling, having that voice whispering in snake language, the flashlight turning on/off. it's exactly the same 6 different "scary" things, looping over and over, sometimes on different level, because you have to make money tho. Sounds are loud for absolutely no reason. The exact same mob being dumb af, just a light variant on different level.

Yeah, truly not worth it, not to bash the devs, but people recommending the game probably never played any good horror game before. Literally forced myself to visit all areas because on the paper, the game sounds really interesting ! but after 15mins, you can refund, it's basically the same for the next 10h.

I've been waiting for the remake since it was announced. Played the original and it was without any doubt my favorite game. I was honestly scared about how the remake would be, but Bloober Team did such an amazing job.
If you wonder, should I do it? Just go for it, every single minute of playing is worth it, and Bloober really honored the original game.
