very very unique game and a lot of fun to explore. love the Lore so far too. feels a lot like morrowind but somehow even trippier.

after binging this for like 6 hours, i have to say this game is way too slept on. just about everything about it feels great & refreshing to play. the 2.5D doom-like gameplay, while a lot of fun, is only part of it. the worldbuilding and levels are surprisingly intricate & well-crafted. i'm super impressed so far

this is one of the most interesting & unique games i've played in a long time. it feels like a roguelike turn-based rhythm game with heavy collecting & crafting elements, and even has an in-game market of sorts to boot. the music is also great and a lot of fun. it's certainly an early access game, but it already plays really well & is super addictive. definitely give it a go.

TL;DR If you want to experience an extremely solid & interesting traditional roguelike, I can't recommend this game enough.

Caves of Qud is all-around my favorite traditional roguelike that I've gotten to play.
It has all the traits of a good oldschool roguelike w/ its difficulty, RNG madness, and attention to detail.
The character creation & customization is amazing as well, and really helps flesh out the playthroughs.
The visuals are great (so long as you like the intentionally retro style), and lend a lot for your imagination to work with.
The setting is also super captivating and interesting. It feels like a mix of Dying Earth, Fallout, and Dune. This aspect alone had me drawn in from the start. The world also feels immense, I've barely gotten to explore most of it.
And to make everything I've already mentioned more meaningful, the developer(s) seem to be continually invested and active with the game & it shows thru continual improvements and updates.

Every time I try to get a friend into this game they're always like "this game looks boring / wack" and then they get it cuz it's so cheap and takes up so little room and after the initial learning curve of 2-3 games they're hooked and they say "this ♥♥♥♥ is actually intense". It's hugely fun for friends to play together once everyone gets the hang of it and EVERY game plays out completely differently.
