Honestly a very effective Horror game that kind of misses the mark on the survival aspect. The story combines psychological and body horror through its story and art. It comments on the transition from childhood to adulthood and how our interpersonal relationships change as our gender roles are forced onto us. It's actually really beautifully told. That said, from a gameplay perspective it's a little tame and I was deeply disappointed to hear they nerfed it even further with a patch. I've been playing on base difficulty and while I have died a few times from careless mistakes the game is extremely forgiving and showers you with health items. I can't speak to the Hard difficulty at launch because I hadn't touched it yet, and apparently never will now because of pandering. The combat is fine. Pretty typical if you've played any action game that has come out the last decade. Some fights are worth avoiding. One v One is usually pretty safe though.

All in all, an A+ story and art with a B- gameplay experience.
