I love this game. I don't have time or energy to think nowadays. I don't have time to learn complex UI's or revolutionary new gameplay loops. I'm a tired father of 3, and sometimes I just want to chop goblins. You don't have to crouch, or jump, or worry about complicated puzzles, or worry about a flashlight button. You just chop.

One of the most underappreciated games ever made. The satisfaction of exploring an island, mapping it out, and avoiding a terrifying threat is all perfect. Play it now in 2022; the dated graphics and animations only add to the charm.

I love indie titles like Hollow Knight and Celeste which combine great gameplay with a fascinating world/story, and Neversong is no exception. Great atmosphere, lovable and hateable characters, simple but fun puzzles which break up the journey. You can tell it was mostly the vision of one guy which means it just feels cohesive and like a lot of love was put into it. It's short (which may annoy you) but for me as an adult with kids, short games are my jam now. Highly recommended.

Early Access Review
A relaxing, rewarding puzzle game. It's basically moving chess pieces without the competitive part. Definitely worth a dollar without question, buy it if you want a relaxing experience putting things where they belong (Marie Kondo style).

A one button platformer that is surprisingly deep... it throws you into the action and expects you to figure it out quickly. Come for the casual arcade action, stay to see the next unlockable.

I can't get enough of atmospheric interactive experiences. Maybe people should call them "ambient" games? I really love the melancholy feel of this one. HOWEVER, I do think it's too expensive... get it on sale if you like games like these.

To be honest, I knew I'd love this game before I started since I'm obsessed with story-driven exploration games like this. I knew it would be beyond gorgeous, music and environment included. What I DIDN'T expect was how there are polished gameplay mechanics, including a quest log and a simple crafting system for creating your art supplies. I knew there would be voice acting but I didn't expect it to be so professional (like, better than some Elder Scrolls actors). I would've been fine with minimalistic gameplay (AKA walking sim)... but this makes the whole game feel like a AAA production. If getting lost in Eastshade sounds appealing, buy it now and support indie developers like these. God knows we need more games like this nowadays.

It's impressive enough that it was made by one person, but putting that aside, it's just a really good 2D platformer with a lot of heart. Lots of cool things to find if you like exploration, and the dialogue is pretty hilarious. Definitely worth picking up.

Wonderfully atmospheric and gripping. Definitely worth it if you want a self-contained, interesting story that is also a bit creepy and foreboding.
