When nostalgia and the hope of a passionate community become a core marketing strategy to boost sales just to do the complete opposite a few weeks later, by introducing tons of immersion breaking skins and battlepass advertisements into the game on every login, then you know how truly messed up EA is as a company.

The gameplay becomes pretty stale and fatiguing after a few hours too. This game is very fast, maybe a little too fast and the maps are average at best. This gives me the impression that this was done to appeal to the COD playerbase, but that is what ruins the feeling of what is supposed to be Battlefield for me and many others. A game that is designed to appeal to everyone is a game for no one.

The devs, which are probably restricted in what they're allowed to do by higher ups, could do so much more. A Battlefield that is more similiar to the likes of BFBC2, BF3 and BF4, maybe even BF1 would be amazing, but I doubt that this will ever happen.

For me this game is a lesson learned. My desire to play this game is minimal because there are many other multiplayer games that do a much better job.

Some songs are missing, but otherwise 10/10 (The Manor - Our Painted Family is missing, as an example).

This game should cost about 30 bucks for what it is, if not less. I've played a ton of games that cost a fraction of this one that offered so much more.

Oblivion Remastered is all hype without any substance and yet entire internet hyped this "miracle" for two weeks straight and now that the dust settled nobody is talking about it anymore. It's a game that was made to capture nostalgic people and to fool those without nostalgia that were curious because they had great times with other Bethesda games (despite their obvious flaws from a modern game design standpoint).

But enough empty ranting, here's why I dislike this game:

· Scaling worlds are boring and offer no fun. No matter how strong you get, your enemies will always level with you just enough to be unsatisfying to fight. It's not hard, it's just boring and you won't feel a reward for the effort you put in.
· Many dungeons or caves lead you into nothing and are an absolute waste of time.
· The AI might be funny if you watch some random YouTube clips of it, but once you play the game for yourself you'll realize that it's not funny at all, it's just sad.
· Unreal 5, while looking photorealistic and having cool lighting, lacks substance in this game. Everything looks the same, every cave, every castle-wall, the entire world.. it just feels like someone created an empty world and then put fancy assets into it that lack depth.
· the performance is bad, even on a 9070xt. This game is basically two instances of a game running at the same time, leading to all sorts of issues.

So avoid this game, go back to modding Skyrim, or play some total conversion or heck, or go even further back and play Morrowind? Idk. This game needs to age like fine wine. I hope the modding community fixes this up, but I probably won't boot this one up ever again.

So far this game is just a husk of what the older titles are and lacks identity. The game also runs pretty badly on many systems and even on a 9070 XT it showed several weird behaviors. From framegen randomly turning off to crashes.

Old MH titles are distinct in their design and gameplay philosophy. MHGU was a blast, so was 4U, World was the first attempt at a realistic looking game that was mostly great gameplaywise (with some weaknesses, mainly the clutchclaw and the pacing) and Rise is very relevant in its own way by combining modern and old gameplay-aspects of several entries in the series, especially when you look at sunbreak.

Wilds on the other hand is a hunting epxerience on rails that leaves a lot to be desired. Before you can enjoy the game you need to get through the most boring story that never stops interrupting your flow and once you're through that the game is over before you know it.

The late game is a mess and sometimes the difficulty is all over the place. Some monster variants get overtuned in the damage they deal, but the behavior and movesets don't change. Other fights are more or less just a cinematic experience. Look at a monster while it dies within minutes, while nobody needs to put in any effort.

But you know Capcom. They either fix their games or they do nothing at all. Most MH DLC's are great and maybe this game won't be any different in that regard. They definitely tried to do something great here, but so far they failed. There's very little reason to buy this game at full price when there are so many old entries you can enjoy with friends. Peer pressure might be the only reason to play this game - that was the reason why I played it.

So yeah. Decide for yourself if that's worth it. Otherwise stick to the old games. There are ways to play them and I can highly recommend to do that instead of playing Wilds.

Lmao go pound sand with your 50series prices nvidia.. framegen at home and it actually works decently for games that don't require delay free gameplay.

It runs okay-ish with DLSS and FSR 3.1 and I can see the vision, but upscaling and framegen cause a blurry image and this makes things feel a little off and it makes the overall visibility of things much worse. I also feel like, despite Nvidia Reflex, that there's some input lag.

Now all of this would be fine if this was a game that worked well with a controller (let's be real here, shooters with a controller usually do not).. on a slow paced rpg or a game with slower animations (like Monster Hunter) this input delay would be totally fine. Here it's a mixed back imo.

So I will get a refund and wait. I got mostly over 100 fps on my setup adt 1440p, which is cool, but I want a smoother experience and to me DLSS and FSR just make everything blurry and mess up clarity.

I will join soon, but I am not in a hurry.

I can still see that this is a good game, just like the OG titles.
