If you liked Rome 2 then you will also like Attila.
Most of the campaign map features have been improved in Attila IMHO. For example the family tree is back and there's the new horde mechanic.
I like both Rome 2 and Attila. Rome 2 takes place in the heyday of the Roman Empire, Attila in its demise. Both are interesting time periods but I like Rome 2's a bit better.
However I would choose Attila over Rome 2 for the improved game design, gameplay mechanics, overall polish and better combat AI. Also both games have great modding support in the Steam Workshop.
It's also worth checking out the current HumbleBundle which offers some pretty sweet deals for many Total War games, including Rome 2 and Attila.
