Was a good time, but terribly mismanaged.

Excusing cheaters, adding bugs, meaningless events, solo vs trio queues. They are really out of touch with their own game.

There is easy stuff to fix but they don't seem to care

initial technical problems aside, this has been one of the best live-service launches ever

Decent fun, still some minor issues with performance, but seems much better (FPS + input delay) compared to the previous beta.

General Visibility of enemies and gun-balance is not in the best-state at the moment,

A decent time at first, but terrible UX once you go past a single ship.

As an example, the galaxy map:
- Very difficult to get a sense of what sectors are where, you'll have to memorize this
- No additional menu overlays, there is no list of ships to select from, you have to manually find them
- Bad Interface for issuing commands
- The UI showing which ships are in a highlighted sector literally blocks adjacent sectors. The solution is a dedicated key-bind to move the UI to an equally terrible spot when the UI should never be in center-screen to begin with
- Keeping ships together is difficult, warping doesn't work half the time seemingly for no reason
- None of the information you need ever exists
- You cannot quickly "ping" a sector to online teammates.
- You cannot use your ships sensors unless you manually switch to the sector, which causes a loading screen

And that's not where it ends. There is an RTS mode which suffers from the same problems, and the ship building experience is not that pleasant either. It's easier to just scale your ships up instead of building new ones, which isn't very creative and seems to just defeat the purpose of ship building. You seemingly cannot select pre-existing blocks to drag them or rescale them, which is frustrating.

There are minor alerts when your distant ships are being attacked, but finding the source of these notifications is not easy. If you miss a notification, your miners might just stop mining and there will be very little indication on the map that they aren't doing anything. Something like a past warnings log (roller coaster tycoon) would be enough. In the same vein, my AI ships never make the right calls when they get attacked, they should be able to assess their targets, and warp away from enemies they can't kill.

Combat is fun, mining is fun, basic automation is fun, and the online/ local dedicated server experience works pretty well... but it quickly gets slogged down.

A much-worse version of journey. You find yourself repeating the same basic steps over and over again
