Hi Wallace,

I can see that someone wants to send you a friend request. However, you should be wary about this. This is due to the fact that there are an increasing number of confidence trick attempts occurring on steam so at this time I would not recommend communications with people who you do not know and who have their profiles set to private. The additional fact that he has 'something for you' does not bode well and I would recommend you stay well clear of anyone who wants you to send them a friend request instead of sending them one.

In fact, back in the day I fell victim to one of these confidence tricks or "scams" as they are called. I once posted a trade onto a Team Fortress 2 trading website and instantly got a response. I was elated, and it was my man asking me to add his friend. However, instead of a steam community link, he sent me a steam coRNmunity link, but with the font used on steam it was displayed as steamcornmunity, which looks just like steam community. I trusted this man and headed to the website and tried to make contact with his 'friend', before being told I had to sign in. I entered my user name and password then the website tried to download a virus called STEAMGUARD.exe to my device! Needless to say I was quickly out of there and made sure to change my steam password, scan my computer for viruses and report the account to Steam Support.

Needless to say, it's not 100% definite that this Kezan fellow is attempting to perform such an audacious stunt on you but you must be aware of the risks. Keep in mind however that there is still a chance that he is legitimate, so you should examine each case by its own merits. Keep safe!
