I had been avoiding the whole "The Factory must grow" genre of games until now, and I quickly learnt that it was for a good reason. This game scratched some sort of very similar itch that Terraria and the like do for me, and man was it a blast through the whole journey. I don't have basically any other game to compare this to, but I really liked what Satisfactory had to offer, and now trying out Factorio doesn't seem like as daunting of a task.

Surprising hidden gem from last year, really liked everything Pipistrello was putting down. Cool puzzles, fun mechanics, banging soundtrack!

Weird little game! Visual language remained super interesting throughout the entire game, story had me locked in while not completely understanding it. LOVED the visuals. A little rough around the edges at some points but I hadn't realised that the game was made on GZDoom, not really familiar with the quirks of it but somehow learning that it's sort of the doom engine blew me away more than anything, and I forgave a lot of the problems after that. Strong recommend!

Genuinely a joy to play through, short and sweet, "simple" mechanics that get expanded in depth I never could've seen coming. Big recommend to any puzzle heads!

Really liked Dispatch! All I expected it to be, though I ended up enjoying the gameplay "dispatch" sections more than I thought. Fun characters and writing. Painfully hard decisions. Not a fan of the fact that the game doesn't have too many replayability options in the way of allowing scenes/dialogue to be skipped, when there are multiple achievements locked in atleast two more full playthroughs. Will probably revisit to get them at some point, but for now I'm more than satisfied!

First time experiencing this classic, the campiness was a little off-putting at first when compared to the (somewhat) more horror centered and serious RE2. This game had me jump a couple of times while RE2 had me actively ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ my pants, still very much enjoyed the game though! You can definitely see the direction where the franchise was starting to go from this game already but still a banger

Unique little horror game, had a lot of fun with the first run, thoroughly unnerved. World also seems super interesting. Getting all achievements ended up being a bit of a chore but I can definitely heartily recommend the game otherwise

I haven't played RimWorld or Core Keeper, so my only reference point in comparing this game was Terraria. I had fun enough with the game, and it didn't drag too long (endgame grind excluded). The settler management was a fun twist on the gameplay, and I liked the automatisation aspect of it. Bosses and enemy variety were good enough and the progression felt fun. It started to get a little old in the endgame "incursion" phase though with the lack of new gear to look forward to, it felt like an odd choice to have all gear basically be equal at that stage of the game. Overall a fun romp to get through with friends though!

Early Access Review
I am leaving a positive review, but there's not too many things I can compliment the game on. All the mechanics feel very hastily put together with very little thought behind them. Combat is awful at worst and flashy but shallow as a puddle at best. The "puzzles" all account to putting the square piece in the square hole. The first half of the game had me on the border of quitting, until the one cool sequence of the game plays, which gave me enough willingness to finish it, though the rest of the game held no such surprises sadly.

The game tries to emulate the N64 Zelda vibe, but everything is just a little off? The amount of jank and rough edges just kind of made me want to play MM again instead, though directly comparing the two games might be unfair. I'm sad about the fact that I didn't have more fun with this game, as the story seemed interesting enough and I'd be super down for this kind of game, if the gameplay wasn't aggressively trying to bore me. I will give the new acts a chance once they drop, and I'm somewhat hopeful for what the future holds for this game.

I didn't get too into Vampire Survivors when that came out, but I did have way more fun with Megabonk. Though I felt it ran into the same problem, where the seemingly "optimal" build is too easy to replicate, and trying new stuff seems discouraged, especially when most of the base tomes feel completely useless next to Attack Speed, Luck or Exp. Overall very fun time killer though
