Seeing Clock Tower, the mother of the survival horror, receiving its well deserved comeback, gives me the faintest ray of hope that Haunting Ground/Demento will be re-released one day.

Perhaps I have grew desensitised over years of playing various of horror games, or Outlast is simply more of a hide-and-seek game than an actual horror that would genuinely disturb or have any good impression on me. It lacks suspense in favour of jump scares, and sometimes, ridiculously high shock/gore factor. The encounters with stalkers and chase sequences are very repetitive.

I don’t think I will ever experience a game like this. Devastating yet hauntingly beautiful.

Great game which comes with the best workout playlist. Highly recommended.
