It really lands right in the middle for me. It has some great ideas but a lot of it was just not executed well. A good buy on a good sale though, hoping it'll get developed on for a while like WWZ.

1. Performance is pretty poor I'd say, me and all my friends were getting much lower framerates than we would've liked despite fully lowering the graphics settings.

2. Progression is simple number increases, more damage, more ammo, more radius, etc. You can't really make a cool build, you just make specific things better. As a side note, there's hard caps on a handful of stuff like resource storage but namely on weapon xp where you can't get more than 3000xp per mission (aka a 4 mission minimum to max). This only encourages players to quit mid mission when they wanna farm, and it confuses new players since they won't know to switch off after a while. There is no way to view weapon xp mid mission as well, so you're just left guessing if you should switch off.

3. Replayability is lacking, missions drag on a little longer than you want them to most the time. All the objectives are pretty much the same, either hold out against horde or shoot a big health bar. It's not really about how many missions there are for me, it's about the variety. And between the same objectives all the time mixed with the lackluster progression I just don't find myself itching to play another one.

I've honestly been enjoying the game so far but I'm starting to get very bored and frustrated as I'm hitting a wall in the progression. 25 hours into the game I'm still forced to use practically the same gadgets I've had from the start. There are a LOT of bugs overall, the more you play the more you'll notice. Most unlocks for new guns and gadgets are from leveling and completing challenges. Currently leveling is extremely slow and most challenges are bugged This makes a large portion of progress made, which feels like about 80%, go completely unrecorded. Negative review just to bring attention, 70$ is still a pretty penny for most people so consider waiting for a sale and maybe by then the progression will be more refined and critical bugs patched out.

Great game for loot goblins like myself. Decent grind but some good rewards at the end of it.

Side note on difficulty, it is highly customizable with sliders for just about anything. I would highly recommend NOT playing the hardest difficulty (Olympic Gauntlet) to start with because it's more like chores than challenge. That being said you should probably make it at least a little harder. Base difficulty makes it feel like you hardly even need panels and doors on the car for protection.

The most compact drill driver in its class is more powerful than the competition. Built with a Milwaukee® 4-Pole frameless motor, the M18™ 1/2" Drill Driver delivers 500 in-lbs of torque and up to 1,800 RPM. At only 7-1/4" length, this drill driver allows you access to the tightest work spaces. An all-metal gear case and 1/2" metal chuck provide maximum durability, even on the most challenging worksites. REDLINK™ Intelligence provides advanced protection in abusive situations and manages the tool's temperature to provide maximum life.

Early Access Review
If you like Subnautica and/or incremental games then you'll probably enjoy this one.

Planet Crafter relates a lot to Subnautica's method of gathering resource outcroppings, and base building. As well as the exploration with different caves, biomes, and wrecks that contain key blueprints.

On the terraforming side of things it's an incremental game where you build things to increase your numbers and unlock better things to increase your numbers faster.

Lastly on the early access side of things the game feels pretty good so far. I haven't had a single crash and most of the core gameplay is already present. I did however experience a decent and consistent performance drop towards end game.

Looking forward to how the game develops!

While maybe not as good as the base game, I think Mooncrash is still enjoyable and worth playing. Mooncrash has most of the charms of the base game with the added twist of it being a rogue-lite. Weapons have rarity, loot and environments are randomized, you earn credits used as an alternative to crafting, neuromods carry over across runs, abilities divided up among 5 characters, and a corruption meter that makes the game harder the longer you play. In the end Mooncrash just needed a little more love, I would have liked it if Mooncrash focused less on the looting/crafting and more on its rogue-lite element. It didn't feel challenging to escape, and my main motivation wasn't escaping, but rather crafting a load of neuromods and making my characters powerful. But in the end when you finish all the objectives, the DLC just ends, kind of abruptly. To top it off, you can't go back and keep doing runs just for fun with your godlike characters, you lose all progress you made and have to start a new game, and there isn't NG+. All in all, Mooncrash is still more Prey, so maybe pick it up on sale

One of my all time favorite games. Really liked the atmosphere and most of the story. The gameplay is also very good, though I wished for the game to be a little more challenging than it is currently. The game is very generous with resources as long as you take your time looting and doing side quests, I always found myself with an abundance of pretty much everything even on the hardest difficulty. Often times there are multiple different ways to approach a given challenge, and part of the fun is experimenting with the game's mechanics to find out what you're capable of. Definitely worth playing
