One of the best detective games out there. Yes, get the DLC. The sequel is more of the same, but play this one first.

Early Access Review
This game is amazing, and it's not even done yet. It feels simliar to Binding of Isaac in that you proceed through a series of randomly generated levels and acquire interesting upgrades that change the way you play. It's more of a bullet hell shooter, though. It's blisteringly difficult (and this is coming from someone who plays a lot of difficult rogue-likes and rogue-lites), and incredibly satisfying, and it's only going to get better, as updates are constantly rolling out.

My only mild complaint is that the difficulty is seriously almost unmanageable, and it's not uncommon to die due to imbalanced level generation. I don't necessarily think it should be toned down (except for the rare unavoidable death when starting a level right next to an exploding enemy), but an easier mode would make the game a lot more approachable.

This is definitely Early Access done right.

It's really great. Only about an hour in so far, but it's basically the Binding of Isaac: The Good Version. If the only improvement was that the game wasn't in Flash, it'd be worth the price of admission. It's incredibly smooth, looks fantastic, and there seems to be an enormous amount of additional content.

Edit: 19 hours in now, over the course of 4 days... Can confirm: it's really damn good.

Absolutely pick it up if it goes on sale. There's not much else out there like it. Don't read anything about it or you might spoil some of the more hilarious bits.

Careful before installing this. It makes the base game like 10 times harder, no joke. Perhaps try to beat Mom in vanilla a few times before installing it.

There's a lot of cruddy items in this expansion, and the enemies are a lot more unpredictable.

Oh man this game is awesome. It's a randomly-generated platformer that feels an awful lot like a roguelike. It's challenging, gorgeous, and clever. It's a refined verison of the freeware orginal, so if you're interested, you can download the old version to try it out.

One of my favorite time-waster games.

Oh god this game is great. It's sort of like Super Meat Boy, or any other precision platformer, in that levels are short and you will die a lot without much consequence. It's a top down brawler/shooter that involves stealth elements. It's... really hard to describe. A must-play. Grab it now, or wait for the next indie bundle. It's sure to be in it.

I last reviewed this game over a year ago. At the time I had played it for about a hundred hours. In that review I spoke about its strategic depth, adrenaline pumping action, and emotional highs. Over a year later and I've played it for nearly 900. I was only scratching the surface.

Dota is the thrill of scoring first blood in a bad matchup, as well as despair of seeing the enemy Spirit Breaker gank yet another one of your teammates. It's flashy teamfights, and precise positioning. It's chaotic 30-minute slugfests, and careful 70-minute economic tug-of-wars. It's the uneasy suspense of snatching Roshan right from under the enemy team's nose, and it's the mind-numbing frustration of having an enemy Nature's Prophet knock yet another one of your towers down and get away clean.

It a hard-fought victory snatched from the jaws of defeat, and it's watching your team get torn apart, emotionally crumble, and begin to blame each other.

Dota is my favorite game of all time, and I don't think I'll ever experience anything like it ever again.

Became a great entry with the Gods and Kings expansion. Not worth it without it. If you're not interested in spending that much money, pick up IV Gold.

I'd recommend picking it up if you're in to stealth games. It's sort of like a first-person Splinter Cell. The stages are more like small sandboxes and it can be a lot of fun challenging yourself (ie: get away with 90% of the loot and not knock anyone out). Also a particular stage near the end of the game is one of the best in any stealth game ever. It's seriously worth playing the whole thing just to see it.
